The Director of Corporate Communications will leverage healthcare industry experience and business acumen to develop and execute innovative and integrated communication strategies aligned to enterprise growth targets. This self-starter will collaborate cross-functionally to design, create and deliver CEO communications for key stakeholders including employees, doctors, shareholders, and media. Creating engaging cut-through content and multimedia production will be a key deliverable of this role, so this communications professional will need to be digitally savvy and confident delivering webinars, developing PowerPoint presentations and impactful eDMs. This role will also work in close collaboration with national communications leads from across the group. Frequent travel will be required to centers throughout the U.S. and on occasion internationally.

Internal: CEO & Managing Director, Chief of Staff, Office of the CEO, Global Executive Leadership Team, U.S. leadership team, Group Internal Communications Manager, US Director Communications, National internal communications and PR leads, Shareholders, Doctor leaders, Marketing and IT

External: Public relations agencies, Corporate media, U.S. media, Patients, Production agencies

Key Responsibilities:

  • Internal and Executive Communications
  • Define the right frequency and channels of CEO communication to encourage, inform and empower staff
  • Write and produce content, including message tracks, speech notes, presentations, email announcements, newsletters, eDMs, videos and intranet content. Develop and produce engaging town hall forums and other innovative forms of communications, generating supporting materials as needed (e.g. slide decks, scripts, etc.), working with production crew to film live and recorded forums
  • Support alignment of messages between the CEO's office and internal communication resources in all markets
  • Advance work by developing and guiding integrated communications programs

Media Relations:

  • Design and deliver global corporate media relations program
  • Coordinate market specific media campaigns led in each country
  • Supervise corporate media reporting and analysis and develop action plans as required

Shareholder Communication:

  • Develop regular shareholder communications to keep shareholders advised and aligned with the business direction

Strategic Advisor:

  • Provide mentorship and support to the CEO, US Communications Director, US Internal Communications Specialist, and other executives on effective communications, including preparation of presentation decks, scripts for townhalls, messages to stakeholders, etc.
  • Be a primary member of the Crisis Management Team, preparing messaging, responses, and advice to the appropriate company spokesperson on the given issue. Act as a media advisor in partnership with an external agency, when required, to resolve issues and in the event of a crisis
  • Expertly advise management across a range of areas including partner relations, reputation management, media relations and internal communications
  • Support and advise on the development of the organization's strategic goals in Communications, Public Engagement and Advocacy, including preparation of briefs and submissions
  • Identify challenges and emerging issues faced by the organization. Work with leadership team and staff to recognize internal and external communications opportunities and solutions, and define and execute appropriate strategies to support them

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or associated field along with significant experience in a communications agency or in-house communications role. Prior experience in the healthcare/medical industries or similar is preferred. Interest in clinical themes and treatment advancements.
  • Expert-level capabilities across digital, media relations, executive communications, etc. Media management and investor communications capabilities.
  • Internal communications expertise: from strategy to delivery. Working understanding of change management principles.
  • Previous experience supporting and advising C-suite executives. Proven experience in working with dynamic partners to deliver change.
  • Proven project and change management skills with an action orientation and dedication to expediency. Ability to define success metrics, track / measure performance and return on investment of different communication channels.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communications. High attention to detail and quality of work output. Strong command of Microsoft 365 (e.g. PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Yammer, Word, Excel, OneNote).
  • Experience managing webinars for large audiences using Zoom, or an alternative tool, coordinating large in-person town hall forums, and coordinating filming with external production teams is highly desirable.
  • Digital savviness, with practical experience using other digital communications tools, including media monitoring platforms, Campaign Monitor, Vimeo and Survey Monkey, is also desirable, along with the ability to publish content to intranets.
  • Sound judgement with strategic decision-making skills along with the ability to execute plans based on that strategic vision. Flexibility and agility using incomplete data to make decisions.
