The Role

Our client is a leader in the kid's entertainment space and is looking for a Social Media Director to join their fast-growing team. This is a hybrid onsite role in Los Angeles.

You will own and expand the social media infrastructure as part of the greater marketing strategy, and be the subject matter expert on social including platforms, trends, audience usage and content. They engage their audience on many different platforms, in many different way and social media is a cornerstone in opening the world of their content to families around the world.

  • Part of your role is to work with the wider marketing team to make sure our social channels support the different products and comms. You are responsible to continuous engagement with our partner managers from the different platforms, making sure our brands and channels take advantage of the newest platform tools and initiatives and set up for the future development of the platforms.
  • Be a resource for the Brand Marketing Directors and Social Media Managers to help drive platform, audience and content strategy for social, helping them optimize and grow their brands in this channel

Create and own social media strategy for the different brands – You will be responsible for setting the social media strategy for our brands and setting up the brand teams to be able to deliver on the strategies. You will work closely with the Brand Marketing Directors and General Managers of each of the brands to align social strategies to the broader brand strategies, ensuring social strategies deliver on their short and long term KPIs and goals.

Manage and deliver Brand Partnership campaigns – They are fortunate to be working with some of the biggest brands in the world to create fun and engaging family-friendly add-concepts. You will own the relationship with the partnerships team and support them in creating and producing engaging and meaningful content and campaigns across our social media channels. You will work closely with the Brand Marketing Directors and General Managers to ensure these campaigns align with brand guidelines and goals.

Train, support and guide social media teams in the brand teams – You will be the strategic and technical shepherd who oversees the posting strategy from the brand social teams – which consist of social media managers and community managers. While the social teams report into the brand teams, you will mentor and ensure their continued development and make sure they understand the technical aspects of their job and that they stay educated on the direction of the social platforms and how their algorithms are evolving.

Set yearly social media goals/KPIs and oversee reporting – You are responsible for setting short and long term goals/KPIs, reporting standards and overseeing the reporting from each of the brand teams to share the progress of social platforms with the VP of Brand and Comms and the wider management team.

Manage influencer program – You are responsible for managing the influencer program infrastructure. Ensuring we have continuous engagement with the influencers in our network, that we continuously engage new relevant influencers and that we activate and vet the right influencers for various brand campaigns.

About You

You have a strong background in social media with an in-depth understanding of the algorithms behind each of our priority platforms (FB, Insta, TikTok) and building organic audiences and creating both organic and paid campaigns. You are well-versed in brand management on social media, and you are world class in analyzing platform data, reporting and sharing challenges and successes with the business.

  • 5 + years of experience running multiple channels on social media for various brands and able to work to a specified tone of voice and with brand-led strategic messaging.
  • In tune with UK and US popular culture – particularly around the topics of parenting and young kids’ interests.
