Director of Digital Marketing (San Diego)

Looking for a Director of Digital Marketing to lead a team of 4 (ecommerce, social media, and performance marketing) on a full-time basis. Must be able to work in person in downtown San Diego 3-4 days/week (No Exceptions). In this role, you will define and implement robust digital marketing strategies and manage day-to-day execution to achieve KPI goals.


  • Develop digital marketing strategy, annual plan, roadmap, and performance targets
  • Drive full-funnel advertising campaign development (media and creative), execution, and performance reporting
  • Lead e-commerce initiatives to increase sales, profit and brand affinity from our website, app, and third-party marketplaces
  • Design, build, and maintain social media presence
  • Use a data-first, test and learn approach to develop and optimize marketing initiatives
  • Continuously evaluate and improve MarTech stack
  • Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies; provide thought leadership and perspective that leverages industry trends and best practices
  • Inspire and mentor a team of 4 direct reports


  • 7+ years experience in digital marketing; 5+ years managing teams; experience managing outside agencies
  • Relevant industry experience in hospitality, retail, restaurant, e-commerce, or digital marketing agency
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in marketing, advertising or related field. MBA or related Master’s degree preferred
  • Thought leader in e-commerce, SEO, paid digital advertising, and social media
  • A start-up mentality; strong sense of urgency, eager to problem solve, can work with a lean team and agency partners/vendors, brings a positive, can-do attitude
