Our client, a global leader in cybersecurity, is seeking a CMO to join their company. The CMO is the brand champion and a key stakeholder for the company’s continued success as one of the top cyber security companies in the world. This role is responsible for leading a marketing organization with team members across the globe as well as the strategic growth of the brand through go-to-market, digital, communications, and demand generation campaigns.

The Chief Marketing Officer will be responsible for defining, implementing, and owning an end-to-end marketing strategy across all channels within a quarterly cadence. This strategy will be aligned with the overall business objective to deliver revenue growth by focusing on increased demand generation and brand awareness in its markets. They will work closely with other members of the executive leadership team in this strategic, operational and highly visible role in the business.

The CMO will lead and manage the department’s team of global marketers based in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC, as well any external vendors, freelancers, or other third-party contributors. This CMO also provides critical support for the CEO as both the head of brand, company spokesperson and supports CEO communications.

Essential Functions:

  • Own the full marketing plan & strategy, including go-to-market, product marketing and full accountability over execution. Input into the overall business strategy as part of the executive leadership team.
  • Expand a high-volume customer acquisitions engine by championing the development and execution of all digital marketing plans & strategies company into untapped markets with a high probability of ROI in the digital-centric landscape.
  • Work closely and in collaboration with the CRO and sales organization to understand their objectives and challenges across geographies, segments, and channels to produce effective demand generation campaigns and messaging. Assist with sales enablement efforts to train and certify sellers in articulating the company’s value proposition and the usage of lead generation assets.
  • Oversee the Sales Development Representative (SDR) organization to qualify inbound marketing leads and conduct outbound prospecting to produce qualified sales meetings for the regional Sales teams.
  • Compose and manage the Marketing department’s annual budget while being able to present it clearly to CEO and CFO on a quarterly basis through easily understandable reports.
  • Lead a motivated, high performance marketing team to set current and long-term goals for each team member as well as for the department’s ongoing personnel needs.
  • Demonstrate excellence in thought leadership through the building of long-term communication plans and innovative brand campaigns with industry analysts, security influencers, and company internal comms. Serve as primary contact for media and PR-related opportunities and work closely with the department’s global Social Media Managers to develop on-brand social media content that is authentic, engaging, and managed through a monthly content calendar including leading-edge thought leadership research reports.
  • Maintain a strong pulse of competitors in the marketplace through thorough market research for the purpose of ensuring the company remains at the tip of the spear for industry innovation and differentiation.
  • Develop new marketing efforts to improve customer, and prospective customer, engagement with a high emphasis on in-bound, lead generation. Own the customer advocacy program.
  • Collaborate with the product organization to articulate differentiation, product marketing assets, and quarterly go-to-market launches.
  • Identify and implement innovative ideas to promote and grow the brand, including managing the brand strategy and image standards for the brand. Manage all creative development of brand assets including the website, ads, print and digital collateral, social posts, emails, and promotional materials.
  • Lead the company’s annual customer conference and related regional events.
  • Work closely with the CEO and other members of the executive leadership team on external speaking engagements, PR, and customer events.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills and experience building, scaling and managing high-performing international marketing teams.
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented leader who is highly analytical and data-driven while fostering an environment of creativity and providing team members with necessary autonomy.
  • Expertise in social, digital, print, and email marketing best practices to effectively reach and engage target audiences.
  • Strength in process development, implementation, and reporting for all marketing operations.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, identifying key priorities, and adapting quickly.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-impact marketing business results through marketing campaign mix (ABM, attribution, CPC, demand generation, audience targeting, brand awareness, etc.).Proven understanding of current Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Pay-Per-Click (PPC), and Google Adwords tactics.
  • Proficient in composing and presenting reporting best solutions centered around accurate KPIs.
  • Ability to accurately prioritize and delegate tasks to the appropriate team members in ways that position them for success.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and time-management skills.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work with, and manage, both in-office and remote personnel.
  • Ability to collect, interpret, and communicate data to the Executive team.
  • Experience with Salesforce products, CRM best practices, marketing automation solutions such as Marketo, PathFactory, and analytics solutions such as Google Analytics, Clari, amongst others.
  • Driven by a level of brand ownership that is second-to-none and sets the bar for all fellow team members

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, or a related field required.
  • 10+ years of marketing experience in a VP role required, with 5+ years of marketing automation campaign and analytics experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of marketing to a global audience with sensitivity to international cultural nuances and needs.
  • Familiarity or prior experience with Agile Marketing principles and processes.
  • Experience with marketing automation and martech platforms such as Marketo, PathFactory, Salesforce products, Wordpress, Google Analytics, Google Ads, and all major social media sites is required.
