Senior Visual Designer (Web Focus)

Our fintech client is seeking a well-rounded Senior Visual Designer who will drive and create visual assets and digital layouts for the company's website, email, and paid media channels. This is a hybrid role where you'll be working with the marketing department and web team. We will also consider candidates who lean more heavily in web design, as that is the higher priority need.

This role is 3 months to start with the intention to convert to full time permanent after that (not guaranteed). 40 hours/week, fully remote from anywhere in the U.S. May need to work and be available for meetings on Pacific Time Zone hours. Candidates in the Bay Area will have the option to go onsite in Menlo Park.

Responsibilities

• Most important: Create clean, unique, and innovative web interfaces:

  • Design attractive and alluring pages that are both intuitive, functional and easily navigable

  • Create interfaces that guide the user naturally and make them want to stay and read/click/interact more

  • Collaborate with web producers to maintain structure for the website(s)

  • Ensure mobile-friendly capabilities

  • Help manage web templating standards

• If you have marketing design skills, you will also have the opportunity to drive marketing-based visual design in order to maintain brand consistency throughout all channeled projects:

  • Oversee work of design vendors to ensure work meets brand guidelines

  • Participate in strategy and concept with perspective on trends and behavior

  • Meet with and present design concepts to channel owners; assess and reassess their goals for projects; ensure concepts are focused and deadlines are met

• Implement design intake, execution, and delivery process among team members

• Strategize, plan, and design compelling and effective design concepts across digital and web

• Help manage and evolve branding guidelines

  • Establish and maintain a design library

  • Implement assets to help evolve brand positioning and relevance across the competing landscape

  • Liaise with product design teams to maintain visual consistency across brand

Qualifications:

• 4+ years design experience
• Polished portfolio showcasing responsive website designs
• Must know Figma and Adobe Creative Suite. Bonus if you know Builder.io
• Creative mind and strong eye for design and layout, color, spacing, balance, proportion, etc
• Can create innovative designs that intuitively flow
• Nice to have: working knowledge of Apple & Google mobile usability guidelines
• Strong skills in: communication, collaboration with stakeholders, problem-solving, detail-oriented, deadline-driven
• Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Media Design, Graphic Design, Visual Arts or related field
