Vitamin T's client is looking for a talented PR Specialist to join their team. This is a 4-month assignment with the potential to extend, working with an amazing company.
TITLE: PR Specialist
ASSIGNMENT: 4-month temp assignment with the potential to extend
HOURS: Full-time, 40 hours per week
LOCATION: 100% Remote, if candidates are located in Richmond, VA and are open to a hybrid structure, that is a plus.
Responsibilities
● Support the Public Relations team by staffing the PR hotline during normal business hours and preparing responses to reporters and other stakeholders with support from pre-approved language and internal company subject matter experts
● Review opportunities presented to the client's employees to represent the company externally and make recommendations regarding participation (speaking opportunities, conferences, podcasts, and case studies)
● Work closely with the client's legal and Investor Relations teams to facilitate reviews of external-facing materials, such as statements to reporters or thought leadership case studies
● Conduct risk assessment research to ensure there are no potential negative impacts to the company’s brand by being associated with an individual/venue/event/platform
● Prepare and edit Word documents and PowerPoints; leverage track changes to align on edits
● Create and distribute a weekly digest featuring company and news media coverage
● Support creation of a quarterly PR measurement report
● Support award entries such as ‘Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For’
● Draft company LinkedIn posts for company news and initiatives
● Keep apprised of daily news and proactively identify topics that may impact the brand
● Support the management of the PR budget including invoice processing, tracking, and generating reports
Requirements
● 3-5+ years’ experience in PR and media relations is a must
● A college degree in Communications, Journalism, or PR is preferred
● Experience with Meltwater or similar media monitoring service is preferred but not required
● Experience working with the news media required
● Proficient with Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, and Word. Capable of using track changes to propose and confirm edits to a document
● Strong written and communication skills
● Capable of researching opportunities for reputation risk/reward
● Highly responsive and able to effectively prioritize multiple, competing initiatives
● Positive team player who is effective in a fast-paced, collaborative and supportive workplace
