Job Description

Aquent's Federal Consultancy has client with ongoing need for Full Scope Polygraph Cleared Visual Media Designers in Northern VA area.  This is a long-term Contract.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop corporate media design products that shall be used for print, web, interactive, mobile and video production. Efforts include but are not limited to corporate identity, publication design, environmental design, product or event promotion, original artist concepts, and infographics.
  • Accurately estimate time and creative resources required for production of moderate to complex design products.
  • Utilize creative problem solving and analytical thinking skills to develop sophisticated design solutions.
  • Work independently to develop effective design solutions from concept to completion within customer environments.
  • Collaborate with video producers, video editors, instructional systems designers, web developers, mobile developers, programmers and other media producers to translate customer requirements into unique, engaging products.
  • Consult with clients, peers and management on application of copyright laws and accessibility compliance requirements.
  • Participate actively, collaboratively and effectively in weekly team and project meetings with customers, management, technical staff, and project team members to define requirements, identify issues, negotiate changes, manage production resources and meet deadlines.
  • Provide excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills to clients, peers and management via effective oral and written correspondence.
  • Manage multiple, complex projects concurrently, regularly independently, ensuring project goals are met or exceeded.
  • Develop structurally sound production files and effectively organize project assets.
  • Proofread work and provide project proofs with a very low error margin. Conduct and participate in peer or Production manager review of each project deliverable.
  • Candidates will also craft effective email correspondence and provide excellent communication to clients, peers and management.
  • Act as a production liaison or business representative for IPS in developing relationships with Agency and IC clients.
  • Promote best practices within a creative team and with clients, sharing lessons learned and advancements in the industry.

Skills & Requirements:

  • The Visual Media Designer must be able to create information graphics (Data Visualization) from complex information that is used for briefings. The VMD must have some business acumen since the designer will be working in a Working Capital Fund environment. Visual Media Designer may be required to work within multidisciplinary production teams.
  • Bachelor's degree with a major in graphic design, interactive design, visual media or a related design discipline in the visual communication arts or verifiable equivalent design and business experience that demonstrates the individual's knowledge, skills, and abilities as required by the position description.
  • 3+ years of professional graphic design experience, demonstrating knowledge and application of visual media design principles, theory, practices and trends in  a variety of media used to develop innovative solutions and complex data visualization.
  • 3+ years experience in use of industry standard software tools (including Adobe Creative Suite, critically Photoshop, Illustrator, and lnDesign) and techniques for concept development, creation of structurally sound production files, and preparation for output in multiple media including print, imaging, presentation, web and video.
  • Experience interfacing consistently and effectively with customers, management, technical staff, and project team members to define requirements, identify issues, negotiate changes, manage production resources and meet deadlines.
  • Polished skills in concept development and execution while routinely managing a moderate to heavy workload. Success in this position is enabled by skills in business development, resource management, requirements definition, estimating, production and delivery of an array of innovative media products.
  • Must possess flexibility for periodic deployment to satellite offices for onsite customer support. Individuals in this position may have the opportunity to deploy to field locations to support mission critical needs.
  • Candidates must provide resume and portfolio of 10 or more samples that demonstrate visual media design expertise, utilizing industry standard software, showcasing the designer's skills, knowledge, and competencies in successful application of graphic design theory, principles, and practices, including aesthetics, composition, typography and color theory for multiple media. Portfolio may contain samples to demonstrate proficiency in development of innovative solutions for client requirements in corporate identity, publication design, promotion design, infographics and web. Portfolio samples may also demonstrate fine art, photography, interactive and motion proficiency.
  • Work is onsite at client facilities in Northern Virginia/DC Metro Area.
  • Current TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph Required.
