Head of Motion Graphics

Our client are part of a global creative network and provide one of the most established offerings within the industry, famous for producing notably effective and creative work which has seen them pick up a number of awards. Our client are the Socially focussed arm of this agency network and boast a lengthy list of clients both big and small, with offices in over 5 locations around the world.
Our client are looking for an experienced Motion Graphics Designer ready to make the big step to working as Head of the department. You will maintain your hands on skills, working directly on multiple projects, and also work to build, develop and run the talented team of creatives. You will work closely with the ECD, CD and other members of the team in the smooth and successful running of the team, translating goals and targets to the wider team and developing plans to achieve those goals. As an experienced motion designer, you will still be comfortable with hands on design work across 2D and 3D executions, leading the team by example.
Currently the majority of the team is made up of freelancers and contractors, part of your responsibility will be ensuring that there is sufficient support within the team to complete all projects, as well as building your own in-house team of permanent members of staff. The work you produce will be mostly within social channels including Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat.
Skills & Experience
Our client are looking for a very experienced and creative Head of Motion, ideally someone ready to make the step up into this position, maintaining their hands on involvement in projects. You will have previous experience working with big brands on their social channels, developing a mixture of assets across both 2D and 3D design.
Other skills include:
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe CS (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)
- Full working proficiency in Cinema 4D
- Natural leader keen on mentoring and the development of your team
- Previous leadership experience is preferable
- Strong problem solving and organisational skills
- A flexible approach to work
- Excellent communication skills
