Our client, a startup focused on building a video platform that helps businesses and universities improve the way that they train, teach, and share knowledge, is looking for a seasoned digital marketer with experience in website design, information architecture, analytics, user experience, and SEO to manage the consumer facing website. The scoop on this job

This role is focused on top of our sales funnel—driving awareness, generating demand, and bringing in new sales leads through their website. Specifically, you’ll be responsible for:

  1. Website strategy: Their website is their #1 source for qualified sales opportunities, with more than half of our new opps originating from organic, direct, and paid search traffic. You’ll own the architecture, design, content, and user experience of our site in pursuit of more traffic and qualified leads. As part of this, you’ll be responsible for developing a site strategy that reflects positively on our brand — envisioning and implementing a clean design and UX that are modern, aesthetically pleasing, and focused on helping visitors find what they’re looking for quickly. In your first few months, you’ll have the opportunity to evaluate our site’s UX and information architecture, and redesign it in order to better serve visitors.

  2. Managing website vendor: The development, design, testing, and hosting of their website is managed by a partner agency. Once you’ve created a 12 to 24-month roadmap for the site, you’ll work with the agency to scope, prioritize and schedule projects, spec new website functionality and design, confirm implementation details, provide feedback, ensure projects are delivered on time, and ensure that any code deployed to our production servers are thoroughly tested.

  3. Expanding website’s focus from B2B to B2C: In the near future, they will be launching new products that will expand the business from a B2B sales model to one that also incorporates traditional B2C sales. This will have a range of implications on the website navigation, landing pages, and design, as well as the language and tone they use on web pages, etc. You will lead the effort to make all necessary updates to the website to help ensure the success of the new products. As part of this, you’ll work with the leadership team to set targets for website traffic uplift and conversions for the B2C offerings.

  4. Expanding global online presence: Currently they host localized microsites for French, German, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean markets. As part of your role, you’ll create a strategy for improving the international online presence through expanded microsites, better international SEO and SEM, more localized short- and long-form content, and a better integration between their English site and microsites.

  5. Partnering with content marketing and marketing operations: They play moneyball when it comes to marketing, analyzing data gathered through Google Analytics, Adwords, Marketo, Salesforce, and other tools to help guide the content marketing strategy. In this role, you’ll work closely with the operations team to understand and improve the efficiency with which they attract and convert leads. And you’ll work with the content marketing team ensure that the content they develop helps maximize quality traffic and leads through the site.


  1. A documented track record of success in website marketing. We are looking for someone who has several years of demonstrated success in all the areas needed to make our website great — SEO, information architecture, design, user experience, and analytics. This will help you ramp up quickly and begin implementing the changes that’ll accelerate their business growth. 

  2. A fantastic attitude. We are looking for someone who shares has a passion for the product they market; who is always optimistic in the face of tough business challenges; who’s comfortable with what they do and don’t know; and who knows how to detach from the day-to-day madness of the job and have fun with the team.
