Job Description

Vitamin T has partnered with a client that is looking for a Sr. UX Designer to join their Experience Design team. As a Sr. UX Designer you are familiar with user-centric design processes on a practical level, and with visual design, and the ability to bring new concepts and experiences to life.

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively and clearly communicate design decisions to everyone you collaborate with. You can balance design objectives with the user and business in mind and offer creative options along the way. You continuously follow visual design trends and know when and how to use them in your projects
  • Create and present designs that effectively communicate the function and brand identity, including the design and production of design concepts, visual/storyboards, layouts and scenarios, using visual elements and design principles
  • Design information architectures, taxonomies, and component and page layout wireframes that turn messy, disorganized and often very complex websites into clear, navigable, and valuable resources for users
  • Create engaging, usable, and effective design solutions to achieve user-focused goals and business objectives
  • Familiarity with leading and/or assisting in workshops and brainstorming sessions with internal teams or with clients to define conceptual approaches
  • Partner closely with Strategy, Business System Analysis, Analytics, SEO and Development to translate business and users’ goals into elegant and practical design
  • Use best practices and strong foundational standards related to design/user experience across the user journey
  • Use participatory and iterative design techniques, including observational studies, customer interviews, usability testing, and other forms of requirements discovery

Qualifications:

  • 5-9 years of experience designing for web and mobile
  • An online portfolio that showcases your conceptual design skills and demonstrates originality, innovation, and strong problem-solving skills
  • Broad-thinking and an ability to offer a variety of creative design solutions
  • Experience developing and running design-focused workshops
  • Ability to communicate conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale, both verbally and visually to internal teams and clients
  • Ability to provide expertise and mentorship to others
  • An agency mindset; excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Not Required but Highly Desirable

  • Data visualization and infographics design experience
  • Animation and micro-interaction design experience
  • Front-end code experience (HTML/CSS/JavaScript)
