Job Description


Our Client in the Seaport District is seeking a Content Strategist for their marketing programs.  You will be part of a larger centralized content strategy and operations team, is assigned to support one or more marketing campaigns or programs, applying content expertise to create an audience-centric content plan that advances business objectives. 

   The content strategist ensures that content best practices are applied to integrated marketing program planning so that the full buyer’s journey and reputation, demand and sales enablement programs have been included and rationalized against activation plans. Building strong cross-functional relationships across marketing, product and sales is critical to the success of this role; the content strategist works with these functions to define content strategy goals and approach, identify and ideate on compelling storylines, and align these elements to campaign briefs, messaging documents and activation strategy to create a comprehensive and measurable content plan. 

  Tactically, the content strategist may manage workflow, budget and agency relationships, liaise with subject matter experts, apply brand standards and act as editorial director for content strategies under his or her purview.


Roles and Responsibilities 


• Build and manage cross-functional relationships needed to link people, process and technologies that contribute to strategic content planning, execution and measurement 

•Synthesize business goals, marketing and campaign plans to create content strategy

• Work across functions and levels – from individual contributors to key executives – to ensure comprehensive inputs to strategic content planning 

• Evangelize and educate relevant teams on audience- centric content strategy best practices as well as the corporate brand and content governance 

• Participate in a cross-functional content council to ensure programmatic content strategy representation 

• Participate in a cross-functional content council to ensure programmatic content strategy representation 

• Ensure programmatic content is represented in the organization’s universal content taxonomy 

• Conduct tracking, reporting and investment analysis – deriving insights from content measurement that inform program planning 

• Contribute to search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) initiatives with an understanding of how to integrate keyword strategy into overall content planning for programs and campaigns 

• Aggregate and maintain inputs for content strategies, including audience insights, personas, messaging, competitive information and feedback from content supply chain contributors and users 

• Understand best practices and requirements for supporting inbound and outbound content distribution channels 

• Identify and recommend opportunities for content reuse 

• Perform strategic mapping of content to audience journeys and ongoing journey gap analysis of the content inventory and its ability to support content strategy and campaign requirements 

• Understand and leverage industry trends, the corporate brand and solution value propositions to ensure content quality and relevance in content creation 

• Provide operational support for content strategy and creation, engaging cross-functional participants and managing the content calendar, content briefs, workflow and deadlines 

• Contribute to writing and editing assets in support of the content plan and in the context of messaging, brand and editorial guidelines 

• Support related sales enablement content needs, including managing content access and usage measurement 

• Manage, contribute to and publish to social media channels 




  • 10 years of integrated marketing, content marketing, marketing communications and or agency experience.

  • Cross-Functional, multi-phase and complex project management

  • Technical/product category experience is desired 

  • Writing and editing experience
