Job Description

A growing team is looking for a Technical Writer who will be responsible for creating, editing and revising documents including playbooks, workflows, processes, operational procedures and security requirements. The documentation much be simple and clear to understand by any audience.

This is a 6 month contract role to start (possible extensions), 40 hours a week, onsite in Costa Mesa. The team may  be open to remote for the right candidate, must be avaialble to wor between 8-5pm PST. 30.00/HR-40.00/HR MAX. 

* Must be able to not only create technical content for documents but also able to create workflows and diagrams. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Create, edit, and revise playbooks, visual workflows, processes, standard operational procedures
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop supporting documentation for incident response and business continuity plans
  • Identify document standards to ensure consistency with documentation across all teams

Technical Skills:

  • 3-5+ years of professional Technical writing experience 
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of a workflow mapping, including:
    • Create visual workflow diagrams to represent processes
    • Create formal documentation on processes to provide more detail 
  • Knowledge of JIRA/Confluence, Microsoft Office365, Word, OneNote, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Other Required Skills: 

  • Must be able to translate technical terms into easily understandable lingo
  • Demonstrated history of translating technical concepts into actionable policies, standards and procedures
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Excellent collaboration and facilitation skills
  • With little to no guidance, develop diagrams, charts, and graphs that increase the user’s understanding
