As the WordPress Front-End Design Developer, you are responsible for handling front-end design development. You are comfortable working closely with digital marketing and other business stakeholders to translate the vision into dynamic web and mobile experiences.
You think carefully about the user, the project goals, and how your role helps determine the outcome. You enjoy being part of the creative process and how design translates into accessible and semantic code that performs well on a variety of browsers, devices, and connection speeds. Above all, you're a person with a passion for technology and constant improvement of the user experience. The Front-End WordPress Developer is a WP specialist and thoroughly understands theme development, implementation and execution.
" Develop and maintain a custom WordPress application
" Participate in creative meetings to develop the direction for internal and client focused projects
" Build UX optimized and engaging web sites, landing pages, display ads, and email templates.
" Build responsive web and mobile experiences that support business needs
" Research, recommend, and Implement plugins that are supported by business needs
" Troubleshoot and resolve varying levels of technical issues
" Manage versioning and deployment of application source code including source control management, branching, tagging, etc.
" Use your coding and problem-solving skills to support web applications in a fast-paced, high-energy agile team environment
" Performing tests, analyzing the results of changes, and tracking metrics such as #visitors, referrals, conversion rate
" Working with content management systems (WordPress and Drupal preferred)
" Be able to quickly adapt to new technologies, frameworks and requirements
" Must be a conscientious team player with a *can-do* attitude and ability to take ownership of your work quality
Requirements for the Role:
" BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Marketing, or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
" Minimum 2 years' experience building and designing for WordPress sites
" Knowledge of plugin installation and development
" Understanding of caching
" Experience in front-end development and back-end engineering
" Experience with one database programming language, such as SQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.
" Knowledge in full lifecycle of application development
" Familiar with browser compatibility and responsive web design (web, tablet, mobile)
" CMS theme development experience: WordPress
" Design of user interfaces (UI)
" Design of user experience (UX)
" Familiar with cloud-based technology, such as AWS
" Knowledge of Google Analytics or other website monitoring tools and speed optimization tools
" Accessibility and technical SEO experience
" Great attention to detail and strong organization skills within a fast-paced environment
" A motivated, collaborative, and dependable team player
