A learning science company and one of the "big three" educational publishers that provides customized educational content, software, and services for pre-K through postgraduate education is seeking a Director, Strategy & Business Development to join their team!

The Director, Strategy & Business Development will be responsible for supporting the VP, Strategic Services with the strategy development process for Senior Leadership Team throughout the year ensuring that strategic opportunities are identified and explored, assisting with the structuring of initiatives so that they can clearly be executed and assisting with the development of a framework to develop and manage them. This person will also assist in analysis of those issues and provide insights across different departments.

Your contribution to the team includes:

  • Conducting organizational assessments to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities and to evaluate strategic relevance.
  • Developing insights, building business cases, identifying root causes and designing solutions for identified threats and opportunities.
  • Coordinating forums to present progress on key strategies/initiatives.
  • Preparing board decks for Senior Leadership Team; creating and implementing the strategic planning calendar.
  • Working with Finance and Investor Relations teams on maintaining, reviewing and issuing insights on competitive performance.
  • Providing analysis and assisting with the development of proposals for institutional level opportunities.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required; advanced degree (MBA) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience developing business plans, performing market analysis and managing budgets.
  • Competent in technology products and digital markets.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability in working successfully with cross functional teams.
  • Expertise in strategic planning and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to develop ideas from concept to implementation.
