UI/Product designer with excellent 3D/Unity experience for VR required for a contract role in Central London.
Our global giant organisation is looking for a unique individual who is passionate about technology and the VR/AR/MR space and creative 3D experiences for users. Based with an equally passionate team in central London you will have have a great combination of designing for systems and visual design. You'll be joining a team of designers who are passionate about creating a cutting edge Virtual Reality experience and establishing the company as an industry leader. You will bring your senior experience to the table and use your full range of product design, interaction design, and systems design skills, as you work with the team to bring a full experience to life.
Day to Day responsibilities include, but not exclusive to:
Design, research, prototype, and implement features for incremental changes as well as future iterations of the product
Develop and iterate rapid models (prototype or otherwise) of proposed design solutions in VR for the purposes of communication and evaluation
Use design frameworks to articulate and help build end-to-end product flows for VR experiences within productivity
Design flows and visuals and individually contribute to the product and feature set
Give and solicit real time feedback from other designers to continually raise the quality and craftsmanship of the product
Partner with product managers, engineers, researchers, content strategists and QA, overseeing the implementation of the user experience from product conception to launch, as well as post-launch design support
Solve issues with your cross-functional leads
Articulate design decisions to a vast set of internal stakeholders
Think beyond incremental features and help build product strategy
Advocate for product design throughout the organisation.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience with real-time 3D development such as Unity/C# or Unreal
Experience developing concepts/systems/designs for AR and/or VR products
Proven problem solving skills, ability to overcome challenges
To be considered for this role you must have:
A portfolio of work with some examples built in Unity or other real-time 3D engine, of which you can talk through the design and implementation process
A portfolio of work that shows a variety high crafted and quality experiences
A minimum of 2 large projects (7 or 8 smaller/agency projects) that you have been involved with from concept to completion/shipping, this will be equivalent to 3-4 yrs in a large tech business or 5+ in agency
Ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments
Knowledge of virtual reality and emerging technologies
Game development experience
UI development experience
Experience in 3D tools such as Maya, 3DS Max or Cinema 4D
A knowledge of motion design to show
