Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and talented Web UI Developer to shape unique, user-centric products and experiences. The ideal candidate will be a creative person who is self-starting and comfortable working on projects with minimal guidance. You will also be comfortable working with a small team of developers and project managers. You will be able to make and defend design decisions, take wireframes or web mocks and create functional, responsive web pages, manage changing requirements and meet deadlines. 

At this time we are only considering local candidates who can commute to our office in Ann Arbor.


  • Develop new user-facing features using HTML and CSS
  • Build fast, responsive, cross-browser compatible web pages
  • Support and maintain existing web pages including feature additions and bug fixes
  • Create and manipulate image assets
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Optimize web pages for maximum speed and scalability
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

Required Skills And Qualifications

  • Expert understanding of web markup including Semantic HTML, HTML5, CSS3
  • Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
  • Strong understanding of responsive and mobile design.
  • Proficiency in client-side scripting using vanilla JavaScript and jQuery
  • Strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Gimp or other visual design and wire-framing tools
  • Familiarity with Git

Nice To Have Skills

  • Background in Graphic Design
  • Experience with modern CSS tools and frameworks like Grid, Flexbox or Bootstrap
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React or Vue
  • Experience with optimizing web site load times.
  • Familiarity with Content Management Systems.  Experience with Adobe Experience Manager a plus
  • Familiarity with basic SEO principles
