Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Event planner with a GREAT company in Madison. The Event Planner is responsible for creating event concepts, selecting venues, budgeting, securing sponsorships, handling logistics, handling event marketing, negotiating with sub-contractors, preparing expenditure reports, and evaluating event effectiveness that drive sales and generate awareness. This is an on-site, temp to hire opportunity. 


  • Plan, develop and produce events that support and drive sales funnel for company growth from start to finish 
  • Create and manage project timelines; ensure deliverables and milestones are met and act as the primary point of contact for these events 
  • Lead process and overall event execution for the coordination, booth coverage and customer meeting schedules
  • Assist in creating event promotion email communications to drive traffic through social media 
  • Partner with marketing teams to assist in pre-event promotion though all communication mediums (email, social, etc.) 
  • Work with all 3rd party agencies to ensure all event logistics are complete; exhibit design, graphics, shipping, AV, F&B, hotel, entertainment, etc. 
  • Partner with sales and BU marketing teams to analyze and report on event metrics, including new lead generation and customer/attendee engagement 
  • Maintain and communicate global master event calendar within corporate website 
  • Register all attendees, host pre-show training, post-show debrief 
  • Manage/maintain inventory and shipping of all event support materials (product, literature, giveaways, etc.) 
  • Participate in budget development and support budget management 
  • Ensure excellent customer service and superior customer event experience 



  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in event management or marketing 
  • Demonstrable experience of running events from conception to completion 
  • Demonstrable experience of initiative, self-sufficiency and motivation with strong organizational skills
  • Multi-tasker with strong work ethic with meticulous attention to detail
  • Superior interpersonal skills; Strong leadership qualities 
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written; Ability to find creative and practical solutions and make well-considered decisions 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Hospitality or related field
  • Ability to travel (up to 30%) and work flexible hours
