A digital transformation agency in NYC is seeking a Senior Visual Designer to help them out for the next few months! 

  • Client: financial services firm
  • Start: ASAP lasting through end of year
  • Team: CD as a direct report and then collaborative efforts with other designers, copywriters, PMs.
  • Focused on visual design for web, UI focused, working with Citi on digital products.
  • Aesthetics are everything. Looking for elevated visual/UI design - website design samples are nice to see.

As a Senior Designer, you will be responsible for the development, design and execution of work for leading-edge Marketing and Web solutions. You will be collaborating with developers, IAs, copywriters and content strategists as a part of the creative process.

**This team is specifically looking for a freelance rockstar Senior Visual designer with an eye for fresh design thinking. This digital native must have a range of work spanning site experiences to digital activations. Concepting experience is a plus, but candidates should have an expertise in digital-first design.**

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead execution and production of new design concepts to provide complete deliverables, creating style/brand guides and templates where applicable
  • Ability to thoughtfully present work in client presentations and aid in positioning the agency as thought leaders for our client’s business
  • Ensure quality, creating standards and prepare deliverables for handoff to developers, client, printers, etc.
  • Create layouts by exploring appropriate design principles such as color, typography, and photographic selection for the brand, organizing elements and usability
  • Provide rationale for design choices; assure design meets business objectives as stated in creative brief
  • Work collaboratively with UX, copywriters, project managers, other designers and production team
  • Ability to be both hands-on and provide clear direction to others
  • Interpret and translate wireframes into tangible and compelling experiences
  • Create storyboards for animations (identifying the range of assets to be used, the story to be told, etc.)
  • Develop ideas based on criteria in creative brief; present ideas with rationale to senior leadership and to clients
  • Develop style of the presentation for existing concepts/directions; determine the best format to execute ideas
  • Evaluate a brand’s visual language (color palette, logo, font, etc) across a range of media (may include print, online marketing, Web site, packaging, etc.) with little guidance and oversight
  • Compare the brand’s expression across different channels; create summary scorecard to depict findings
  • Sketch logo and wordmark ideas with some direction
  • Document stylistic rules appropriate for the brand and the audience of the medium with oversight including color palette, typography and logo-wordmark guidelines
  • Potential to work on broader 360º creative work including print, video, social and content

Experience Guidelines:

  • 4-6 years of industry experience
  • 4+ years industry-related degree preferred
  • Strong design portfolio
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure with careful attention to detail is a must
  • A solid working knowledge of the latest versions of applicable programs -- Mac OS, Adobe CS, Sketch, Principle, Flinto, Keynote, Powerpoint
  • A good working knowledge of interactivity and the Web
  • Passion for design and eagerness to collaborate with other creatives
  • Self-motivated, organized and accountable
  • Some travel may be required
