The main objectives of this role will be to set and own the communications agenda, ensuring messaging and content achieves our objectives in the three areas above. This is a unique role with the breadth to deliver our strategic positioning, whilst also delivering the range of content needed to cover a broad channel strategy. You will be someone who knows how to ‘play the game’ with communications but with the passion and creativity to ‘change the game’ to deliver our appetite to stand out and grow rapidly.

Communications Planning & Development (20%)
 Build in-depth knowledge of the key USPs and compelling communications for the business.
 Drive the direction of communications and content for the business
 Develop messaging hierarchy, appealing to all audiences and in line with strategy
 Define our content strategy, to include both the themes and the mediums for effective distribution
 Develop effective measures within communications, to ensure we are maximising impact – and creating a test and learn environment to continually improve
 Provide best practice guidelines on types of content, thought leadership, corporate messaging through to delivery of newsletters
 Own customer experience communications, defining the communications journey

Channel & Content Execution (40%)
 Working from content marketing strategy, co-ordinate all content for the business including thought leadership, blogs, articles, case studies)
 Create calendar of communications & themes, liaising internally & externally for content themes.
 Support effective management of communications across all assets, from brochures to website to ensure control of all related content.
 Liaison with content writers as required, ‘shaping’ content & publishing in accordance with agreed objectives and putting in place sign-off processes and to support effective management
 Ensure all  content is in line with desired tone of voice
 Work with Marketing to develop collateral to support content development & campaigns
 Keep content on the marketing portal and online channels up to date and build robust mechanisms for tracking the stages of content and asset development ie sign-off, date creation, date used, distribution to ensure compliance

PR & Social Media (25%) 
 Manage our existing PR agency and setting clear PR strategy, with aligned KPIs
 Manage social platforms on a day to day basis, sourcing articles of interest, responding to customer/enquiries and driving a higher level of engagement and followers from each channel.
 Manage and implement posts and content on social platforms as required.
 Co-ordinating a calendar of activities and optimising content distribution/touch points
 Measuring and monitoring comms/content across different channels
 Own reporting for area, providing analysis of what’s working/what’s not

Team Engagement & Contribution (15%)
 Champion internal communications to ensure all staff is aware (and actively engaged) with activities.
 Governance: ensure all communications comply with our FCA & brand responsibilities. Actively manage policies relating to areas of responsibilities.
 Ensure all content is in line with desired tone of voice
 Ad hoc project delivery as required

The successful candidate will:
 Degree level qualified with at least 5 years’ experience in communications & PR (industry experience is not essential, though experience within a regulated environment an advantage)
 Fluent with communications & content best practice and ability to create engaging content
 Creatively driven, actively seeks innovation and sets a high bar for great comms
 Experience working with agencies and also resourceful i.e. working with freelancers
 Excellent communications style, able to pitch in with copy where needed
 Excellent organisational skills and effective project management
 Great interpersonal skills – essential to gel with a small team.
 Excellent written and verbal English skills are essential.


Who we’re looking for:
 A self-motivated individual to come in and quickly pick up relationships and planning. The role will suit someone with a can-do, proactive attitude, a project management/delivery mind-set, who has a solid experience of channel marketing.
 They should also able to work at a lightning speed and leave in their wake robust mechanisms for tracking and demonstrating success.
 Must have a solid understanding of ‘content’ – what works, what doesn’t and demonstrable results to gain credibility and support.
 The marketing function is just forming, so it’s likely there will be changes along the way – the
person must be flexible to change and happy to roll sleeves up when needed.
