Job Description

We’re looking for a mid-level Inbound Content Strategist  (30 hours per week during business hours) Inbound Content Strategist to work alongside our Account Manager and Project Leads. This is a 3 month contract position, with the opportunity to become full-time. In this role, you’ll be a core member of our client service delivery teams, working directly with clients to develop a comprehensive content strategy that can be leveraged for customer acquisition. The content will need to be used across all channels including email (main focus), websites, blogs, social, etc. You will be driving the Content Strategy for top, middle, and bottom of funnel campaigns that typically last 30-45 days. You’ll also be involved with driving the month-to-month editorial strategy for our clients. This includes planning out the monthly editorial calendar of blogs, social media posts, etc. Initially your role will be 50% focused on Content Strategy and 50% focused on Copy Development. We’ll expect you to define the content strategy, as well as develop the copy. As we gain comfort with your direction of the content strategy and your attention to detail on the development of the copy, your role will shift to being 75% focused on the content strategy with the remaining 25% of your time being used to review the copy from Jr. Copywriters. This is an opportunity to grow into a more strategy-focused role, after we’ve developed a level of comfort with your skills as both a strategist and copywriter. We are a Hubspot Agency Partner and are keen to find Inbound Content Strategists who have an understanding of Hubspot’s technology, marketing methodology, and product ecosystem (i.e. Hubspot Marketing, Sales, Service, CRM).        

DUTIES:                                                         

  • The Inbound Content Strategist (ICS) reports to the Account Manager                                                         
  • Able to develop creative and effective content calendars for emails, blogs, pillar content and social campaigns, including execution and implementation                               
  • Willing to write copy AND edit as needed                                            
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create clear briefs and articulate projects to other contract writers/editors                                                     
  • Oversee the development and execution of monthly editorial calendars, including preparing for and leading monthly editorial meetings                                                     
  • Solid understanding of SEO and how to integrate SEO best practices into content strategy                                                     
  • Ability to audit content to make strategic recommendations and repurpose existing copy                                                     
  • Work closely with Project Lead to oversee and execute the entire Content Production Pipeline (including coordination with Designers, Creatives, etc.)                                    
  • Serve as final “eyes” for all content (including working with Editors to revise content as needed)
  • Confident at reporting on and presenting results and adjusting/optimizing content strategy accordingly
  • Aggregate content related data and relay recommendations or improvements to strategy to Account Manager

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years experience writing copy across channels for various brands, as well as management experience overseeing Junior Copywriters
  • Inbound Certification from HubSpot Academy required​
  • Content Marketing Certification from Hubspot Academy required​
  • Hands-on, if not extensive, experience with project management tools (preferably ClickUp)
  • Ability to “roll up your sleeves” and write copy​
  • Can provide creative direction to writers, designers, and other content producers
  • Ability to work well with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Confident leading client-facing meetings
  • ​Can create polished, succinct, and client-appropriate presentations and deliverables
  • Are highly creative with an exceptional eye for organization, detail, and guidelines
  • Heroic level written and verbal communication skills
  • Expert level understanding of inbound and content marketing best practices (personas, buyer’s journey), resources (including tools, technology, etc.)
  • Expert level understanding of web analytics, tracking implementation, and reporting 
  • Moderate level understanding of marketing automation
  • Understands modern business technology and trends, especially as they relate to project management, marketing operations, digital asset management, and business processes
  • Someone who is motivated and always learning, who can write clear emails, is poised in meetings, and works well independently as well as part of a team
  • Are comfortable working independently, as well as virtually via Slack, Email, and Zoom?
