Job Description

Vitamin T has partnered with a client looking for a Front-End Web Developer who is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming. They embrace brilliance. They embrace independence. This person must have experience translating UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. This person will work with the UI/UX designers and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.

Responsibilities:
Develop functional web and mobile based applications 
Define vision and approach for UI design standards in order to ensure a consistent look and feel and annotate and explain guidelines to design and development teams to ensure 
Collaborate with Creative team and UI/Technical Leads to ensure successful implementation of functionality, usability, interface and interaction designs Experience creating prototypes at various levels of fidelity to articulate and test user flows, UI design, and/or UI animation using modern tools (e.g., InVision, Flinto, Pixate, UXPin,Keynote, etc). 
Constructe information architectures and apply business and customer-level strategies to a user experience 
Translate lient business requirements, user needs, and technical capabilities into an experience that is easy to use, and emotionally engaging 
Manage graphic and branding standards for product evolution 

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years’ demonstrated experience with Microsoft or J2EE technology stack. E.g., .NET C#, VB.NET, AngularJS, Node.js, Java applications, Web Services/APIs, Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), Database and ETL 
  • Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3, and frontend (CSS) frameworks like Foundation or Bootstrap 
  • Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS 
  • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery, C3, D3, KnockoutJS, BackboneJS, ReactJS, DurandalJS, AngularJS, React/Redux, Ember, Django REST Web APIs, etc., or JS-based build tools like Grunt, Gulp, and Bower, 
  • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX 
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them 
  • Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them 
  • Ability to develop 508 compliant user designs 
  • Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as Gimp or Photoshop is a plus 
  • Experience with JIRA/TFS and MS Azure/AWS cloud platforms 
  • Experience with systems design and architecture 
  • Experience in Agile software development 
  • Experience with all phases of the SDLC for a data-centric web application 
  • Distributed application & data processing architectures knowledge 
  • Knowledge of usability best practices 
  • Working knowledge of UI tools and techniques 
  • Past experience on teams that have created new products as well as improved existing ones 
  • Experience with detailed design documents 
  • Clearable for up to Secret clearance
