Job Description

Creative Agency in Oakland is looking for a mid-level Visual Designer (2-5 years expeirence) in a full-time, temp-to-perm capacity. Likely conversion to permanent after 1-2 months. 

 

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of design experience (preferably agency or editorial) and a solid understanding of design principles and key tools.   
    • Experience in concept and design for editorial content/layout
    • Experience in data visualization
    • Experience in branding, visual identity and design systems
    • Basic understanding the web design process, from sitemaps to wireframes to full visual design and an understanding of design systems.
  • Strong conceptual thinking: Designers are expected to not just execute teammates’ ideas but also be a part of the initial creative process.
  • Leadership skills: Our designers have the opportunity – and responsibility – to come up with great ideas and work with other designers to see them through to the finish.
  • Excellent communication skills: You work both autonomously and as part of a team – you’ll need to do both here, so we want need people who can get their marching orders and go as well as communicate and collaborate.
  • Highly organized and with strong attention to detail.
  • A book of relevant work that leaps off the screen.

Skills:

  • High level of proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and Google Slides (Plus if you know Indesign, Sketch, Principle or After Effects)
  • Ability to effectively manage your time around multiple projects
  • Ability to present and execute your ideas
