Job Description

We are seeking an experienced B2B copywriter (ideally with software/hi-tech experience) who will focus on developing written materials to support global communications efforts around an array of software products and services, both on-premise and in the cloud. This is an onsite position in Hoffman Estates, IL.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Writes and edits clear, persuasive and succinct copy for a wide variety of materials, including brochures, datasheets, case studies, video, infographics and eBooks
  • Interviews subject matter experts in a host of vertical markets, while writing, editing and managing the development of marketing materials for product launches in new and existing markets
  • Develop content that presents business value and addresses specific industry challenges, critical business issues, and outlines solution features and benefits
  • Works with clients (internal and external) to produce high quality written content and meet deadlines
  • Translate technical, industrial and market-specific terminology into accessible, benefit-oriented information, varying tone to best suit deliverable and audience
  • Expands and maintains corporate copy and documentation standards
  • Helps guide and reinforce company positioning, branding and tone in all communications, presenting a clear and consistent ‘voice' for all communications
  • Supports sales communications, tradeshow materials and website content with written deliverables
  • Updates product messaging documentation with new features and functionality
  • Works with team to identify gaps in content and schedule content development activities
  • Helps create internal communication content, such as newsletters, marketing updates and company-wide announcements
  • Must possess a keen eye for detail and outstanding writing and editing skills, as well as a track record of driving new marketing content projects

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Copywriting, Marketing or Communications
  • 3-5 years of marketing communications and copywriting experience
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Outstanding proofreading skills and superb grammar
  • A fanatical eye for detail and consistency
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and turn a high volume of work inside tight deadlines
  • Must be able to supply portfolio of writing samples
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Microsoft Office expertise required
  • B2B marketing experience
  • Experience in software industry a plus
  • Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign a plus
