Job Description

Our client is is looking for a strong User Experience Researcher to join their team (6-month assignment with the possibility of extension) as they work to modernize agriculture by helping the world’s farmers sustainably increase their productivity with digital tools.

As a User Researcher, you’ll contribute to solving one of the most important issues facing the world: how to feed an ever growing population with a finite amount of farming land.  

Your Impact: 

  • Represent  the brand to our farmer and retailer customers in a professional manner consistent with our brand: in-person, email and telephone calls 
  • Select and use appropriate research methods and tools based on research needs and goals 
  • Partner with Design and Product to identify and prioritize research needs and outcomes 
  • Coordinate the logistics of executing user research studies 
  • Moderate 1:1 and group panels 
  • Manage customer recruitment based on data metrics and track participation and incentive allocation 
  • Document, compile, synthesize and communicate research findings and actionable recommendations to help inform decision making 
  • Execute unmoderated card sorts, tree tests and usability studies with UserZoom 
  • Participate in competitive analysis and heuristic studies 
  • Self starter who can work independently as needed and collaborate within project teams 
  • Travel to customer sites and other events, primarily in the Midwest (approx. 20% yearly)
  • Collaborate with UX designers, content strategists, product managers, engineers and data scientists 
  • Solicit feedback and contribute constructively to design reviews 
  • Create a strong design point of view, backed up by personal expertise, design rationale, customer data and industry trends 

Core qualifications: 

  • 4+ years experience in UX or user research for digital products, including web and mobile 
  • Experienced in UserZoom
  • Ability to balance and synthesize quantitative data and qualitative feedback 
  • Ability to frame, organize and communicate your work and help others understand how it fits into the design process, including non-designers 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Research, Human-Computer Interaction Design or other relevant field 
  • Link to an online portfolio with work samples
