Job Description

Our Client, a company helping the world’s farmers sustainably increase their productivity with digital tools, is looking for a strong Visual Designer with Product Experience to join their highly collaborative team.  In this role, you’ll contribute to solving one of the most important issues facing the world: how to feed an ever growing population with a finite amount of farming land.

Your Seat at the Table:

Design has a clear seat at the table and shares the responsibility for product planning, execution and success. You’ll be looked to as an expert in your field who will help drive the visual design and branding of the user experience.

Your Impact:

● Create visually engaging and functional designs that support and amplify the user experience across web and mobile platforms

● Represent and enhance the company brand experience

● Be able to work independently and drive your own work within a larger project team

● Document visual design patterns and standards

● Deliver production-ready assets for implementation

● Collaborate with research, UX designers, content strategists, product managers, engineers and data scientists

● Solicit feedback and contribute constructively to design reviews

● Create a strong design point of view, backed up by personal expertise, design rationale, customer data and industry trends

 

Core qualifications:

● Experience in visual design for web and mobile

● Ability to work within existing design patterns and create new ones

● Strong understanding and awareness of the user experience

● Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction Design, or other relevant field

● 5+ years of experience in Visual Design

● Mastery of design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and InVision

 

Preferred qualifications:

● Experience working with mapping technologies and data visualization

● Experience with “motion” design - animations, transitions, behaviors

● Endlessly curious

● Tenacious about solving problems and seeing projects through to the end

● A love for the craft of Design and our ever evolving toolset

● Ability to speak about your work with measured passion and data

● Energy amplifier — things get better when you enter the room

● Paper and pen come before you sit down at a screen

● Use of sketching to tell stories and facilitate workshops

● Quick and dirty feedback is your oxygen when breathing life into an idea
