Job Description

A creative studio in Flatiron District is seeking a Traffic Manager to join their team!

  • Report To: Director of Client Operations
  • Team: part of project management team
  • Start: ASAP
  • Interview Process: phone screen with Director (10-15 mins) then 2-3 in-person interviews
  • They recently brought on 2 senior PM’s and realized they need a Traffic Manager to help out
  • Software: MAJOR PLUS if you have experience with Workamajig OR other PM softwares
  • You woll be resourcing, forecasting, distribution of labor, managing risk, scheduling, reporting
  • They are seeking someone who has been a Traffic Manager as their career
  • Level: mid
  • Agency experience
  • Responsibilities:
    • Oversight of resource allocation and capacity planning. Be able to use their tool (Workamajig) to see the availability of resources (whether it is writing, production, design). You will have birds eye view of the management capacity of their staff. Constantly seeing scopes of work, allocate hours to specific projects, assign people to projects. If there are 8 hours of work assigned to one person they are at 100% capacity. You are monitoring on a daily basis and looking ahead at resources using this tool. You will raise a flag if people are too busy or if they need to bring in a freelancer.
    • Bandwidth assessment
    • Even distribution of work
    • Pulse on the schedules in the office. Should be able to have a sense of all the work in house at any given moment. Managing schedules. Working with PM team to make sure projects are running smoothly and on schedule, making sure everything is accurate and up-to-date
    • Ability working in forecasting measure. Not only reviewing and measuring bandwidth but being able to use that information to look ahead and forecast and say in a few weeks/months from now we are able to do this.
    • Resourcing: liaison to freelancers
    • Have the ability to do reporting: weekly budget reports, allocated hours reports, monitor and report on trends
  • 100% focused on the internal brand
  • Multi-talker, proactive, bit of a self-starter, degree of confidence and familiarity, detail oriented, tech savvy
