Job Description

Our client, a consulting firm in D.C., is seeking a highly conceptual, strategic, and analytical Data Visualization Designer to create custom visualizations from complex data sets in a compelling way. You understand how users think, operate and interact with multiple, disparate data sources and have a minimum of 4-6 years of experience working with UX/UI designers, developers, and data/analytics to create intuitive and innovative solutions that exceed the needs of their customers. 



To be considered for this position, you must have a strong online portfolio that clearly demonstrates your experience with data visualization. 



Key Responsibilities: 

● Work with an interdisciplinary team to produce compelling data-driven stories 

● Work closely with users to determine which data sources are necessary to deliver a solution 

● Translate requirements into customized reporting solutions that are aligned to business goals 

● Establish data visualization standards while exploring new and emerging tools to produce cutting edge solutions 

● Gather information from key stakeholders, and successfully convert these into designs and prototypes 

● Effectively communicate data results by creating custom visualizations for our clients 

Qualifications 
● You must have a strong foundation in visual design with an expertise in creating intuitive and visually compelling data visualizations 

● A strong desire to innovate and create work that pushes the boundaries of data visualization and digital product design 

● Experience working with large data sets, extracting relevant information, and producing strategic conclusions into user-friendly user interfaces for a wide range of users 

● Experience creating large, complex data visualizations that adhere to WCAG 2.0 guidelines 

● In-depth knowledge of creating solutions for iOS and Android platforms 

● You must have a strong understanding of responsive design and be proficient with interaction design and user interfaces 

● Exceptional analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills 

● Experience working with an Agile development team 

● Experience participating in usability testing 

● Experience with current development technologies, standards, and best practices, including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, React, D3.js Chart.js or others 



Minimum Years of Experience: 4-6 years 

Must have Bachelors
