Exciting opportunity to join a growing global tech company as a UX/UI Designer in their Chicago office. In this full time position, you’ll work closely with other UX/UI designers, developers, project and account managers to solve real world problems for their users. You will make a direct impact on a variety of products, drive change and improve processes. You should have at least 3 years of in-house experience (ideally B2B) working on UX and Interaction Design for web-based products. This role requires a great eye for design and interaction, solid understanding of best practices in usability, and sensitivity to business objectives and long term product goals.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Produce sitemaps, user flows, wireframes and visual design deliverables on a variety of projects.
Maintain and suggest evolutions of our existing UI framework with holistic consideration of the platform’s future.
Communicate cross-departmentally with project managers, developers and customer experience representatives to solve challenging business problems collaboratively.
Identify areas for user research, write and conduct user interviews.
Work quickly and iteratively while relying on research and feedback to inform design decisions.
Quickly sketch, prototype, sketch and iterate on wireframes.
Work closely with product managers to develop wireframes, user flows and/or prototypes based on project requirements and user feedback
Work closely with developers to translate designs and interactions into code.
Work within existing– and helping to build out the platform UI library.
Manage UI library and work to ensure visual and interaction consistency across multiple products.
REQUIRED BACKGROUND AND SKILLS
At least 3 years of relevant experience in UX/UI design, preferably working on B2B/business enterprise products with proven experience in the following areas:
UX Design – Thinking critically and solving business problems in creative ways by using information architecture, wireframing, usability best practices and prototyping.
UI Design – Using design principles and existing visual frameworks to produce intuitive user interfaces and, where appropriate, develop new styles and patterns that are visually cohesive with the rest of 4C’s products.
Process knowledge – Designing in an iterative manner, proactively seeking feedback from within and outside the design team, and attention to detail in design documentation.
Proficiency in Sketch and InVision; familiarity with Photoshop and Illustrator.
Familiarity with HTML/CSS and a basic understanding of how designs are implemented and integrated into digital products.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
A team player who can also work independently with minimal supervision; self-motivated and willing to "do what it takes" to get the job done.
Strong communication skills and experience with technical writing
