Our client has opened an exciting, new role for a Senior Graphic Designer that will be responsible for developing concepts and designs to support marketing efforts and oversee other design work as required.
This individual must be an experienced problem solver with the ability to understand visual storytelling, apply it to division marketing strategies, and to translate conceptual ideas into creative solutions. It is also important for this person to be comfortable articulating their design concepts to other marketing team members and be comfortable in a highly collaborative, deadline-driven work environment.
We are seeking a blend of strategic and creative thinking, combined with proven ‘hands-on' design execution skills as well as a strong track record of leadership and communication. Ultimately this role is about creating value for the company, by effectively using the power of design. The Sr. Graphic Designer is also expected to stay abreast of industry trends, new practices, design/production tools and advertising platforms.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
A successful candidate will be able to perform the following functions:
Develops from concepts to finished work for print, digital, social media, packaging, video, collateral, in-store POP and visual merchandising materials, and more. Creates quality designs that meet business objectives.
Must be able to work with stakeholders with differing points of view and provide innovative solutions within the parameters of the business needs, timing/budget, and brand standards.
Leads collaboration between marketers, merchants, design team and agencies to develop and/or create assets for use across marketing channels.
Must have good project management skills with mastery of managing timeline and resources to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
Identifies innovative solutions that drive consistency across communication channels (in-store, marketing, e-com), provides clear communication direction to partners, and leverages efficiencies/scale to manage resources, time and learnings.
WHAT YOU NEED
BA/BS or BFA/MFA degree in graphic design, animation or relevant experience.
5+ years experience as a key member of graphic design team.
Senior level knowledge of: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other Adobe Creative Suite software and related design software.
Strong conceptual and design background pertaining to typography, color theory, illustration, photography, and layout.
Design experience working with rapid conceptualization and delivery times.
Ability to clearly articulate design rationale and present visual design work.
Strong design/production portfolio required.
A good understanding of compositing techniques, digital platforms - web, mobile, etc., are preferred.
