Job Description

A non profit here in NYC is looking for a mid level Graphic Designer for a minimum 6 week freelance assignment. Onsite 

This candidate wiill be working on 50% print and 50% digital work

- Email graphics, social graphics and short form printed materials

- Online infographics that can tell a story with data

- Some web design

- Working on fact sheets, 25-30 page report (print materials)

- Graphic design for online store and in house merchandise - t-shirts, buttons, etc.

- Working in a collaborative environment

- This role does not involved a lot of conceptual work 

- Would love to see someone with experience woring with a non profit, but not a must have

- ​Reporting to other Graphic Designer

Softwares: Final Cut Pro and Adobe Creative Suite

The graphic designer will create visually appealing graphics for social media, email, web, print and policy documents. The right candidate will know how to communicate visually to both online grassroots audiences and policymakers. 

- Develop creative concepts and directions for print, digital, and other design needs 
- Serve as a design resource for departments across the organization and within the field 
- Develop and execute concurrent high-quality designs on tight deadlines 
- Create a range of graphics for web communications, including infographics, social media share graphics, email graphics and website graphics 
- Create collateral outside normal print and digital – including, but not limited to outdoor advertising, merchandise or large format signage. 
- Enforce and keep current a brand ‘style guide’ and best practices for the organization 
- Create templates for non-graphic designers to broaden the implementation of brand guidelines 
- Manage production process and associated vendors for print design items 

- Excellent visual communication skills 
- Can develop visual solutions to answer questions and solve problems 
- Has created data visualization from raw data sets 
- Has worked with a diverse set of stakeholders to get buy in, feedback and approvals 
- Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite programs including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat 
- Experience with light animation (GIFs, etc.) 
- Excels in a fast-paced, quick turnaround environment 
- Strong work ethic and ability to work long and sometimes irregular hours in a campaign atmosphere 
- Believes in the mission of ending gun violence 

- Proficiency with basic photography equipment and professional cameras 
- Proficiency with film editing programs such as final cut pro
