Job Description

My client, a CBD based growing independant consultancy, is on the look out for an exceptional senior Full Stack Developer to join their great team.

The role is a brand new role with the added value of being that person to help grow this business. You will take ownership of this role and whilst full support from leadership is at hand, ideally you will want autonmy while you build digital performance. You will take a strategic leadership role in growing the business and have true passion to step into a leadership role as the business grows. You will also liase with clients and have fantastic stakeholder management skills to handle senior client interactions. 

Speaking of clients, with a list ticking majority of industries, the variation of projects will keep you on your toes! No two days will be the same....

  • Technical problem solving 
  • Technical leadership across the business
  • Building and customising Wordpress sites
  • Ensuring best practices and coding standards
  • Working with cloud providers to design client solutions
  • Working closely with clients to understand requirements and best practices
  • Ability to communicate to all levels of clients, staff and stakeholders.

You will have at least 7 years of....

  • PHP5 or later
  • PHP Frameworks (e.g. Laravel)
  • Wordpress and creating custom themes
  • JavaScript Frameworks / Libraries (eg. Angular.js, React.js)
  • HTML/CSS and Pre-Processors (e.g Sass or LESS)
  • MySQL or/and MariaDB including data migrations and optimizations
  • Database Design (SQL and NoSQL) 
  • Experience working with Git and an understanding of best practices for managing and reviewing code within source control services such as BitBucket 
  • Experience with DevOps and automating build processes. 
  • Exposure, use, and understanding of Google Analytics 
  • Experience with Drupal and Magento

Client Description:

Jo and Ali caught up with Alistair at Sonar Group on Queen street.

Sonar have been operating for 3+ years and are growing at approximately 80% every year.

The name Sonar came about as it’s a combination of the 2 directors names and also relates to their work, to seek and search.

The offices are lovely, open plan with large arch windows (Ex Milo & Co office space).

The space is shared with Doherty Moore and Company DOMO Co, (directors are ex Y&R, BMW and Nissan).

The work: Web builds, digital refresh, re-brand, lead management, platform development, data-led marketing, web design & build, content, search, social, paid social, performance, optimisation, strategy, technology, integration and analytics.

Wordpress, PHP, Magento, ecommerce, open-source. No Adobe or Sitecore (for Vic Super Now digital manages this).

Clients: Swinburne ($1mil web dev), Vic Super, Bupa, Luxottica Group, Miele.

The role:

Title: Project Manager/Producer Salary: $75-90k inc depending on exp Start: end of June

This is a hybrid role between PM and suit. Due to it being a small agency you will wear lots of hats, reporting to Alistair, own projects end to end, including developing strategic client relationship and seeing projects through to completion.

WordPress knowledge essential, they use a cloud-based PM software called Harvest for timesheets, smartsheets and forecasting.

The role will include traffic management, project scoping, quoting and invoicing, working in the CMS, pulling together teams, allocating resources. This opportunity would suit someone that understands data led marketing, reviewing, analytics, consumer behaviour and questioning why, what are the moving parts? How can we improve efficiencies? What are the measurement outcomes? Suggesting commercial solutions based on this data to clients.

You will be taking on smaller web, design and build projects, content, search and also assist Alistair on the larger digital transformation projects (for example Swinburne and Vic Super).

This role wouldn’t suit someone that wants a big agency vibe, there will be lots of autonomy and at times a very small team in the office. The ideal candidate will be accountable and trustworthy and keen to roll up their sleeves and be an instrumental team player. Alistair wants to be less hands-on day to day, so he can focus on new business and further developing and growing the agency.

This is a great opportunity for a midweight to be a lead producer in a collaborative agency. You will be mentored by industry heavyweights (7 years Isobar).
