Job Description

Our client needs a Front End Developer to start ASAP on an ongoing freelance booking until a permanent developer is found

 

They're based in Uxbridge, day rate upwards of £350 (Ltd/Umbrella)

Key Responsibilities;

  • Ensuring coding standards are defined and maintained following industry best practices
  • Leading the creation of modular, reusable frameworks that can be rolled out across multiple brand & internal platforms
  • Leveraging your experience to provide key input into the future of the core development strategy
  • Testing all web pages, emails and forms to ensure all code works consistently across the target platforms prior to launch
  • Delivering all projects within tight deadlines, managing new priority projects as they come in 
  • Reporting directly to the Technology and Development Manager, as well as providing day to day support for the Junior Developers, Digital Designers and External Development Team(s)
  • Working with the brand teams and other internal functions to ensure updates and changes to apps, websites and emails are delivered on time

 

Qualifications and Professional Experience Required

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent training) with significant experience (5+ years) working in-house or at an agency

  • Advanced level HTML / CSS including modern features such as CSS Grid and Web Components

  • Advanced level object-oriented/functional JavaScript skills

  • Proficient in modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, Vue, React or similar

  • Working knowledge of Node/NPM, Webpack, Gulp or similar

  • Competent in web animation with standard CSS or libraries such as Greensock, Pixi or similar

  • Responsive web/email design and development

  • Clear understanding of usability principles and interaction design (UI/UX)

  • The familiarity of working and developing for content management systems 

  • Experience designing and building mobile applications be that using progressive frameworks such as Ionic or native iOS/Android development

  • Modular and extensible CSS using BEM or Atomic principles

  • Wireframes for UI/UX

  • Interactive prototypes using tools such as Invision

  • Experience working in sprints and leveraging SCRUM/agile methodologies

  • Experience leading and mentoring Junior Developers
