Our educational publishing client is looking for a freelance Print Production Manager to start in their NYC office right away.
This is a long term freelance 6+ months opportunity.
K-12 educational publishing experience is a must have for this role.
The most important traits for this position will be organizational and communication skills, with the ability to track numerous components at various stages of development, across internal and external teams.
Coordinate all aspects of production from manuscript to press-ready files, as assigned by the Director of Production, in concert with all stakeholders, ensuring adherence to schedule and budget
Resolve or escalate queries throughout the production process, in consultation with the Director of Production, Art Directors, and Editorial staff
Create, revise, and maintain production schedules, as assigned, for weekly production status meeting
Traffic files between departments and outside vendors using WoodWing’s Enterprise database publishing system
Assist with the processing of production-related invoices and vendor contracts
Maintain digital archives of completed products
Thorough understanding of principles of print production
8+ years relevant work experience
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, balancing the needs of multiple concurrent projects under tight deadlines
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Proficiency with Mac OS, Adobe InDesign CC, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and the Microsoft Office suite of apps.
Familiarity with WoodWing Enterprise or K4 publishing systems a plus
