Job Description


We are looking for a marketing content writer to play a central role in thought leadership creation and marketing communications initiatives. This individual will write and develop (for digital and print platforms) thought leadership, including studies, bylined articles, story vignettes and collateral material for a global firm and its industry sectors and consultants. This is an excellent position for a skilled writer knowledgeable about a broad range of global business and leadership issues who is seeking an opportunity to contribute to a wide variety of thought leadership and corporate marketing initiatives. 


  • Contribute to the development of complex topics that require collaboration with subject matter experts to glean important details and insight that speak to clients’ strategic leadership issues and needs 
  • Write effectively for a variety of digital and print marketing platforms, including thought leadership pieces i.e. bylined articles and research studies, case studies and client stories, email, web copy and social media content, speeches and presentations, and a variety of other marketing communications
  • Edit and revise content based on internal or external feedback, has the ability to take criticism in stride, and is not afraid to dig deeper to resolve questions when necessary
  • Prepare creative briefs, interview guides and executive summaries for articles and studies
  • Contribute to firm-level projects that help promote the brand internally and externally, including creating and maintaining corporate marketing collateral and consultant credential materials, including biographies, backgrounders and other introductory material, as necessary
  • Bring innovation, creativity, and freshness to marketing execution and stay on top of trends in the marketing profession
  • Work directly with design team to shepherd designed layouts through review process and proof for publication
  • Meet intense and changing deadlines, manage multiple projects, balance shifting priorities, and focus on solutions to improve quality and efficiency as project progresses
  • Regularly communicate and share knowledge, including communication of work status using our project management system
  • Work under limited supervision, taking ownership of assignments and any issues within own area of knowledge 
  • Work cooperatively in a team environment; participate in project planning sessions with team members and key stakeholders 


  • 6 –10 years of professional writing experience; must come from an environment where he/she is writing every day for a senior-level audience, in the business-to-business space, ideally in the professional services industry
  • Possesses excellent writing and editing skills as demonstrated by the ability to effectively cultivate and synthesize thematic ideas
  • Experience writing for multiple formats and channels
  • Possesses excellent oral communication skills; articulate, poised and credible to senior management and firm clients
  • Skilled at working in a multidisciplinary environment and able to collaborate successfully with other team members and staff
  • Skilled in the development and production process; has the ability to take a project from inception to completion, working with consultants, designers and marketing managers
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously, with great emphasis on quality, business insight and differentiation
  • Proven success in working comfortably and successfully under tight deadlines; a willingness to accept and learn from critiques, as needed
  • Strong proofreading and editing skills a must
  • Ability to work in a matrixed environment with considerable autonomy
  • Well-read and knowledgeable of business issues; intellectually curious
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field
