The role will be varied, from being the design lead on a major website/app redesign project, to
reviewing & optimising the purchase funnel on a client’s site, and everything in between.
This is an autonomous role, with the ability to build a team over time. There will be opportunity to lead and to build the team with further growth.
Discovery & User Research
•Planning & running user research – interviews (stakeholders and users), user testing.
•Running workshops and brainstorming sessions
•Gathering information from stakeholders including likes, dislikes, pain points, project fears and success
criteria to develop strategic documentation to inform design phases.
•Gathering user requirements/user stories
Digital Platform Optimisation
•UX reviews of existing digital platforms with optimisation recommendations
•Completing competitor analysis and market scans to analyse current trends and learn key take-aways to
•Recommending digital optimisation initiatives and personalisation options
User Experience Development
•Creating user journeys
•Develop IA structures and site maps
•Documenting learnings from UX phase into a design brief to inform design phases of projects.
•Low ﬁdelity prototyping & wireframing
•Developing interaction design speciﬁcations
User Interface Design
•Adapting and translating brand guidelines to create Digital style sheets
•Running collaborative sketching sessions
•Creating responsive designs across mobile/tablet/desktop breakpoints
•Creating reusable component library that can be used as a foundation for the development of page designs
•Presentation of work to key stakeholders
Project Documentation & Delivery
•Documentation of design for handover to developers
•Working with developers to oversee build and brain storm solutions for any problems that may arise in
•Working with the Project Manager throughout the above phases to lead the UX/UI workstreams, ultimately
delivering what needs to be done
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
•At least 3- 5 years’ experience in UX/UI
•Previous experience with leading medium-large digital design projects (e.g. as UX or design lead on a large
•Demonstrable experience designing in a template & component model
•High proﬁciency with Sketch, InVision, Zeplin,
•Strong problem-solving skills
•Knowledge of UX/UI best practice principles and current trends
•Experience with user research, persona development, UX reviews, competitive analysis, collaborative
sketching sessions (‘design jams’), prototyping, journey mapping, creating clickable prototypes
•Experience with selling your work into others – this could be in an agency/consulting environment, or
internally in a client-side role
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and excellent presentation skills.
•Good team player, who is prepared to work collaboratively with others to generate the best outcome. Ability to
work in a fast paced team environment with tight deadlines and multiple deliverables is a must
•Experience in Adobe Create Cloud, and basic understanding of HTML/CSS advantageous but not required
