Job Description

Title: Senior UX Designer

Start Date: ASAP

Length: Temp-to-Perm, Full-time (40hrs a week) 

Location: On-site, North Austin 

 

PURPOSE

The ideal candidate is a designer with a strong eye for user experience and information architecture. This person will design unified, branded experiences that span multiple device types and interactions.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. Ability to identify tradeoffs or alternative approaches to support the underlying business value proposition and the needs of the user.
  2. Ability to challenge requirements and present alternative options to suggested requirements.
  3. Provides mentorship to UI/UX designer and others in the development and APM roles by expressing design methodologies and data to back up decisions.
  4. Regular collection of research findings and end points. Intermediate ability to organize findings into groupings for consumption.
  5. Sharing and presenting ideas to Product team members using evidence-based design.
  6. Translate complex requirements into thoughtful, user-centric experiences that reflect the brand
  7. Work directly with the Consumer Applications Product Manager to envision, prototype, design, improve, and maintain a world-class consumer experience for Kasasa’s mortgage product.
  8. Ability to identify tradeoffs or alternative approaches to support the underlying business value proposition and the needs of the user.
  9. Ability to challenge requirements and present alternative options to suggested requirements.
  10. Excel at presenting ideas to Product team members using evidence-based design.
  11. Provides mentorship to UI/UX designer and others in the development and APM roles by expressing design methodologies and data to back up decisions.
  12. Collaborate with other UI/UX team members and Product Managers on identifying and developing design patterns
  13. Work with Development to QA new features and ensure high-fidelity implementations of the vision
  14. Stay abreast of platform best practices, design trends, internal branding requirements, and new technologies.
  15. Experience working within an Agile development process including creating tickets, maintaining a backlog, and contributing to retros a plus
  16. Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS        

  1. Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree combined with 5 or more years of field-related experience.
  2. Exceptional attention to detail.
  3. A clear understanding of the importance of human interface design guidelines/user-centered design.
  4. Proficiency in Sketch, Adobe CC, InVision, Marvel, Axure, animation tools like After Effects or Principle
  5. Ability to mentor junior designers and provide assistance with tools and techniques
  6. Present and provide coaching for other on UX
  7. Familiarity with iOS and Android application design techniques
  8. Must be legally allowed to work in the U.S. without restriction
