Job Description

A marketing implementation agency that produces advertising and other marketing communications is seeking a Web Developer with an eye for design to help them with a project! 

  • Start: ASAP, theoretically next week, 3/18
  • Duration: 1 month at least, could extend!
  • Client: international daily newspaper
  • Reason role is open: work load has increased, adding to bandwidth
  • Team: multi-developer team, large team, 40-50 people total
  • Project: working on banners, journal newsletters, etc. 
  • Onsite
  • Hours: 9/10am-6pm
  • Workstation: will have a desk/computer

The Web Developer/Designer will design and develop client websites, landing pages, banners, and web applications, in addition to supporting the existing set of client web applications, using the latest technologies.

The Developer will create web applications and components from the requirements stage through design and production deployment in collaboration with the client and project manager. They will design, develop, test and deliver web sites, applications and components. The ideal candidate must display excellent written and oral skills with demonstrated interpersonal and organization abilities. A candidate for this position must be able to work in a fast paced environment. Flexibility and tolerance is a necessity.


  • Concept and present design ideas and collaborate with client and project manager to refine
  • Create clean and well thought out web pages in accordance with the requirements of the brief
  • Update, amend and improve on existing online deliverables
  • Maintain client websites using clean, accessible mark up according to the latest web standards
  • Comment your code consistently and cleanly
  • Test all work according to the brief and minimum requirements for each client
  • Design and implement templates, databases and interfaces for ease of use

Job requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, MIS, or related experience
  • Experience working with version control systems
  • Proficient in web-related applications such as E-Mail clients, FTP clients and Web Browsers
  • Superior, practical development experience using HTML, CSS, Javascript, and XML
  • Experience with hardware and software issues
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills
  • Strong ability to communicate and teach non-technical users
  • Must stay current with regard to latest technologies and industry best practices
  • Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Self motivated, detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed


  • Experience with Sitecore, Ektron, Orchard and Umbraco content management systems a plus
  • AS2, AS3
  • HTML 5
  • CSS3
  • PHP
  • Joomla / Drupal
  • Knowledge of server administration
  • Knowledge of CMSs
