Job Description

Vitamin T is looking for a Market Data Analyst at a leading law firm in Chicago.  The Analyst performs data analysis and related research activities to support the Firm’s marketing, business and practice development efforts. The Market Data Analyst leverages internal and external resources to provide information that helps address the challenges faced by practice areas, client teams, individual attorneys and Firm management. S/he works closely with the functional areas of the Marketing Department, Strategic Planning, Accounting, Human Resources and other areas. The Market Data Analyst reports to the Market Intelligence Manager. 
Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Consult with members of the Marketing and Business Development Team and/or other stakeholders to define project requirements with a focus on supporting specific business goals with meaningful analysis 
  • Prepare analysis to support pitches and RFPs, as well as practice and business development projects 
  • Present analysis deliverables with emphasis on translating data and results into actionable insights and recommendations 
  • Develop subject matter expertise with regard to the scope and nature of the Firm’s internal data, practice structure and the corresponding policies and expectations 
  • Execute project assignments and work with Marketing Intelligence team to develop standard reporting deliverables and best practices 
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Planning team to develop data sets and reporting deliverables 
  • Provide additional support to the Marketing Intelligence team for third party projects including defining requirements, evaluating vendors, tracking and reporting progress, and assessing and delivering results 
  • Maintain analysis related content on intranet sites and other related resources 


  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional work experience 
  • A minimum of 3 years of data analysis experience 
  • Experience working with large data sets 
  • Advanced skills with presentation software and MS Excel to synthesize and present data 
  • Demonstrated ability to execute multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities 


  • Advanced degree, such as MBA or Masters in Data Analytics, Data Science or similar 
  • Law firm and/or professional services experience 
  • In-depth business data analysis project experience 
  • Project Management experience 
  • Experience using Power BI, Tableau or similar tools 
  • Knowledge of various external research sources such as S&P Capital IQ, PitchBook, Statista, Thomson Monitor Suite, ALM Intelligence Legal Compass or other resources
