Job Description

The Sales Operations Analyst is a key role where you will help drive insights to inform key business decisions. You will own analyses, data mining for business insights, problem solving to inform business decisions, supporting the field with data, and reporting. You will help understand the customer journey, operations success, and business impact through data. A deep understanding of our internal systems ensures accurate analysis and reporting.


Key responsibilities

  1. Develop compelling, insightful recommendations based on quality data analysis with accuracy (e.g. Problem solving why a KPI is trending down, managing quotas)
  2. Support the field/sales teams with their data requests, to help drive the business
  3. Edit and/or build reports that are useful to drive the business (e.g. Exception reports, dashboards for our C-level execs, etc.). We visualize reports in SSRS and Qlikview (SSRS, Qlikview, data visualization experience not necessary, but a plus)


Other Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert for the team on the data in our enterprise data warehouse
  • Retrieve and analyze data using SQL and Excel
  • Prioritize any ad-hoc analysis or data pull requests
  • Ask the right clarifying questions to understand what analysis needs to be done
  • Source, work with, and combine disparate data sets to answer business questions
  • Able to prioritize and able to meet the timelines set for each analysis
  • Support any initiatives or special projects that directly or indirectly impact the department or broader company
  • Help answer data questions to help senior leaders (as high as the Chief Sales Officer) make decisions
  • Other tasks as assigned


Required Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Exceptional/Advanced SQL skills; strong skills in Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • SSRS, Qlikview, data visualization experience not necessary, but a plus
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Self-motivation and driven to break down barriers to success
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Strong quantitative skills including the ability to analyze and interpret data, with accuracy
  • Solid understanding of the concepts of relational databases
  • Ability to document and understand how data flows from users keystrokes to production systems through ETL processes to an enterprise data warehouse and into your analysis
  • Ability to quickly respond to requested changes and identify process improvements
  • Understanding of marginal analysis and the ability to calculate ROIs and break-even points
  • Understanding of statistical regression analysis and the ability to discern causation from correlation (Not necessary but a plus)
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, work independently, and be able to chart direction of projects

Education Requirements            

  • BA/BS degree required
  • 2+ years of experience in data analytics and reporting
