Job Description

One of Vitamin T's incredible Richmond-based clients is looking for a freelance marketer with a strong writing background to work with their internal corporate communications team on a part-time basis. This role will focus on developing content designed to engage the company's employees across multiple channels.

  • Title: Internal Communications Coordinator
  • Location: Optional. Talent can be primarily remote, but must be able to come onsite at least once per month.
  • Hours: 5-15 hours per week. Hours will vary week-to-week
  • Duration: 3 months. Goal is to extend beyond initial 3 month assignment
  • Opportunity: Temp/Freelance

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide writing and general communications project support for the Internal/Corporate Communications team as needed. Projects will focus on engaging internal employees on a number of topics.  
  • Work may include: writing email communications conveying key business changes; researching/interviewing to write articles for the corporate intranet; creating supporting documents for internal campaigns; creating internal surveys. 
  • Take on additional projects as needed based on team priorities (may include general research, content entry, preparing presentations, basic document layout, etc.)
  • Work against deadline to deliver effective internal communicationsHours per week will vary. Flexible in terms of where and when someone works, as long as deadlines are met. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of marketing experience in an in-house team or agency role
  • Previous experience in internal communications or other employee-focused marketing is a STRONG PLUS. 
  • Portfolio of writing samples from previous professional assignments
  • Ideal candidate is a multi-purpose, multi-media writer. Prior experience writing for a range of channels (ex: email marketing, site content, blog posts, presentation, ad copy, etc.)
  • Previous CMS experience for site content entry (Sharepoint or similar platform), basic design/layout capabilities, experience in Public Relations (PR) writing are all a PLUS
  • Looking for a candidate working outside of their comfort zone and taking on new challenges as needed
