Job Description

My client, a global accountancy firm are looking for an experienced Marketing and Business Development Manager to grow one of their key sectors – responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of marketing and business development activity for Outsourcing (including GCRS), Employer Services Ltd (ESL) and Legal LLP

The development Manager will work closely with the three service line lead partners, central marketing and business development team and key staff to ensure the service lines market their products and services to the internal and 
external marketplaces effectively. This includes managing all internal and external communications, progressing targeting programmes  and ensuring the divisions meet their growth targets. 

*This role has a national remit. 


BD planning: 
 In consultation with the heads of Outsourcing, ESL and Legal, and national and regional BD colleagues, produce and manage the marketing and business development plans and budgets 
 Deliver the service line plans, checking progress against plan regularly, and ensure delivery within budget and adequate ROI BD targeting & proposal support 
 Devise and deliver national internal and external targeting campaigns, using a full range of online and offline channels, to generate business development leads, working with the regional and sectoral teams to generate 
leads and ensure follow up 
 Manage and advise on the use of internal and external data to ensure high quality data for targeting 
 Champion best practice in use of and reporting from Dynamics 365 and measure success including monthly BD reporting from Dynamics 365, using the data to help to shape and reshape BD activity and planning 
 Provide support for large proposals, ensuring the bid proces 
 Manage the continuous development of proposal documentation and presentation materials to continuously improve standards and ensure the bid centre has up to date, relevant service line content 
 Support the development of testimonials / case study and proposals bank Voice of Client 
 Conduct Voice of Client interviews and feedback responses with suggested action plans to relevant teams 
 Work with the client experience team to ensure client needs for each service line are being met, and high value/high potential clients are identified with account plans prepared 

Marketing and Communications 
Develop and communicate the Outsourcing, ESL and Legal proposition internally and externally, managing the production of all collateral to ensure it is needed, accessible, relevant. on brand and in support of the firm’s 
strategy, and develop and manage online/digital campaigns to ensure clear communication to appropriate audiences 
Produce high quality, issues driven, service line specific content to drive marketplace profile, BD conversations and generate opportunities. Communicate this to the regions and sectors to ensure effective use nationally, and ROI 
Manage and drive an effective intermediaries programme to maximise work referrals and promote marketplace position 
Adopt the role of brand champion, ensuring all communications are brand compliant and in support of the firm’s communications strategy, including driving the active use of social media 
Liaise and follow up with the national PR team to ensure adequate, timely and appropriate regional PR commentary and coverage for service line specific market place issues and campaign content 
Drive effective internal communications for the service lines by using central online channels and attending national and regional BD meetings representing OTS, Legal and ESL 
Keep all regional marketing staff informed of plans and act as a central point for good ideas and best practice to 
be shared across the firm Industry knowledge / general responsibilities 
Develop an understanding of each service line in the marketplace and keep up to date with industry developments, bringing these to the attention of relevant stakeholders 
Understand the issues and opportunities facing the service lines in order to support them with growing and developing the business and attend relevant management meetings 
 Assist with national and regional marketing and business development projects as required by the senior leadership team 
 Manage the supporting BDC role including work supervision and professional development 


Personal and professional qualities 
The role requires: 
A professional with strong marketing and business development experience at a managerial level, particularly in targeting new business, proposal project management and marcomms 
Strong knowledge of the fundamentals of the business development process, ideally within a professional services environment 
A professional, credible and confident communicator, with strong influencing skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels within the firm 
Solid and relevant commercial understanding and experience 
Experience of managing large projects and multiple relationships 
A proactive and self-motivated individual 
Management of own workload with minimal supervision 
An active team player 
A marketing degree and CIM qualification is preferable 
Patience and persistence
