Job Description


The Director of Digital Marketing will be a well-rounded marketing professional with a strong background in Digital, but experience in all areas of Marketing (creative, copywriting, branding) with strong analytical skills and the ability to think both creatively and strategically. As the Director of Digital Marketing you have the amazing opportunity to help define the digital marketing strategy.  The Director of Digital Marketing will work alongside a team of talented marketing professionals and external partners in identifying and implementing the digital strategies and tactics that support our company and department goals. You love digital marketing because you are skilled at branding, brand positioning, creative execution, strategic planning, research and analysis. You are a non-stop learner, and will never rely on the way things have always been done. You are constantly looking for new tools to add to their arsenal.   You will be responsible, professional, a thought-leader, and a partner to all departments. The key focus of this role is ROI on both dollars and effort spent. The Director of Digital Marketing reports to the VP of Digital Marketing in the office of the CMO.



  • Ensures the digital marketing strategy is being executed across all digital media channels from concept to launch
  • Leads and manages all aspect of digital marketing, including SEO/SEM, Display Re-Targeting and Acquisition, social advertising and other future channels.
  • Manages digital marketing team; report on and maintain the team’s clear specific, measurable, actionable, reasonable and time-related goals for functional group and individual team members.
  • Develops digital marketing roadmap including optimization of existing channels and development of new and ensure that plans are executed in conjunction with associated tactics
  • Maintains digital marketing budget aligned with overall business objectives and reports on actual, budgeted and forecasted projections in both spend, demand and return on ad spend on regular weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Provides analytics on effectiveness of all digital marketing channels including but not limited to qualitative and quantitative channel performance holistically and down to the campaign/publisher level, channel impacts to acquisition costs and customer lifetime value and associated benchmarks to measure competitive advantages.
  • Leads effort for landing page optimization and other forms of a/b and multivariate tests associated with digital marketing focused on improving click through and conversion rates.
  • Evaluates all associated digital marketing partners, vendors and publishers for effectiveness and contribution to business and digital marketing efforts.
  • Works closely with the Marketing, Product and Sales teams to establish digital marketing priorities and identify digital opportunities that support our brand position and sales goals.
  • Day-to-day management of digital agency
  • Oversee the creation of weekly, monthly and quarterly digital marketing analytics reports; draw insights from available data and champion related marketing actions when needed.
  • Research, promote and introduce new digital marketing platforms and technologies to help the company acquire and retain customers and evolve in the digital space.
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Qualified Lead Generation for member and chair candidates
  • Performance of leads through the marketing and sales funnels by channel
  • Website traffic and conversion


  • Successful track record with 7+ years of Digital Marketing experience
  • Degree in marketing or relevant field.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong experience in digital forecasting and analytics.
  • Ability to inspire cross functional work groups and clearly articulate a vision for the success of digital marketing programs and experiences.
  • Quick-thinking, accurate, hands-on, stress-tolerant, problem-solver
  • Experience leading teams, including salary and hourly employees and temporary/contractors
  • Experience managing, or working at, a Digital Marketing Agency 
  • Marketing Automation experience or deep understanding
  • Knowledge of all online ad platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Google (search and display), Bing and Yahoo
  • Digital marketing thought leader, and constant learner.
  • A strong work ethic with evidence of meeting or exceeding stated goals. Not only meets standards but creates their own standards of high performance. 
  • Demonstrable business acumen and emotional intelligence as evidenced by prior results. Proven success at forecasting and modeling in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Analytical proficiency and decision-making based on business metrics (and intuition). 
  • Ability to be both strategic and tactical. Excellent organizational, administrative and project management skills to include the ability to pro-actively assess critical areas for attention and translate strategies into concrete action.  
  • Sophisticated communication skills to simultaneously achieve corporate growth objectives and satisfy diverse needs of community. 
  • Impeccable ethical conduct and judgment. 
  • Strong PC skills required, including proficiency in all Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience with Salesforce preferred.
  • Experience with HTML, WordPress, marketing automation, Adobe Creative suite preferred.
  • Creative background necessary.
