Job Description

The Job: We have an agency client based out of Portland, looking to build a team for a client activation out of LA. Their client is a Global Sport Performance / Lifestyle Brand. This Producer will need to have experience leading teams on brands in similar fields as Yoga, Health and Fitness, Meditation, and have experience with Consumer Facing brands with a female core demographic. This will be a 1 year contract with high potential to turn permanent! 

This role provides oversight to the production partners (companies and/or contractors) and producer of events and/or photoshoots. It's your job to make everyone feel as if their needs have been satisfied, to engender compromise where no one feels compromised. The Agency Producer is responsible for streamlining and efficiency of the production process through vetted vendors, cost comparisons and definitions of the roles and responsibilities. The best person for this role will be a creative problem solver and must be direct without missing the details and keep the momentum of the project going. You should know the event space in LA already, have vendors you trust and have worked with before, and generally have connections ready to go! This is a client facing role and may involve travel. 

PRODUCTION EXPERTISE :

  • Be the conduit for all activity on identified projects between the Project Manager (PM), creative team, the client and all external resources and vendors. 
  • Assist PMs and the creative team on generating production briefs and brief production resources or manage production. Review with Creative Team to assure alignment of creative intent and deliverables. 
  • Share project estimates and timing with the PM and creative team, to ensure it meets the creative requirements, and client timeline. Adjust scope accordingly until the two align. 
  • Be flexible and able to adapt quickly to the demands of challenging and unusual projects. 
  • Determine the feasibility of producing final creative intent and deliverables. 
  • Source quotes and estimates for production work. Negotiate with external suppliers, including agents representing artists. 
  • Ensure the correct licensing of artistic material across all formats and locations within agreed timings. 
  • Assist in the definition of roles and responsibilities as it relates to overlap with PMs at the start of a project. 
  • Align with the PM on project timeline/workback schedules. If approvals or due dates change or are missed by client, inform PM on how production timeline/workback are affected so PM can keep client aware of revised dates. 
  • Have great organizational skills, being able to manage multiple projects at the same time. 
  • Generate client-facing production estimates and review vendor production estimates. 
  • Report progress of all work and any anticipated deviation from planned timings and costs. 
  • Obtain client feedback from PM and work with Creative Team to make adjustments as needed to assure creative intent is upheld. 


VENDOR MANAGEMENT :

  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, across all functions (i.e. production companies, photographers, post houses, design/build/fabrication, developers, et al). 
  • Select appropriate vendors that will support the vision for the project. Get alignment from the team on final selected vendors. 
  • Maintain and add to a talent and production vendor library for the team as a quick go to resource. Outlined by good, better, best, against their function and skill set. 
  • Be diligent in finding cost saving opportunities by economizing needs across multiple projects with similar deliverables. 

LEADERSHIP :

  • Be capable of working within and leading a team. 
  • Manage vendors in a respectful, forthright way. Demand excellence through patient understanding and collaboration. 
  • Analyze and make recommendations for improved agency processes and efficiencies, including those between internal teams. 
  • Lead project teams with a positive attitude, motivation, respect and a sense of pride. 
  • Promote team motivation and creativity. Positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the client, team members. 

COMMUNICATION :

  • Foster a respectful, open and inspiring work environment within the agency through respectful, thoughtful, honest and clear communication. 
  • Translate project goals and strategies into actionable plans and guidance for team members. 
  • Manage the full lifecycle of productions and advise if there are any problems in workflow or work style. 
  • Work with Studio Manager to ensure jobs are running smoothly and efficiently. 
  • Execute standards of customer service to the highest level.
