Job Description

Vitamin T is currently in search of a Storytelling Lead for our client in Metro Detroit. This is a long term role!

Our stories need to:

  • Address the business challenge & objectives
  • Speak in the client’s language (audience)
  • Flow – form a cohesive story that connects slide to slide
  • Have strategic headlines that connect the story to the information on the slide
  • Tell the whole story, integrating outside insights as appropriate
  • Be concise and pithy while not leaving out key details
  • Meet our audiences needs

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaboratively work with our decision intelligence teams to architect the story, using consumer-driven insights gathered during the project’s engagement
  • Guide report writers day-to-day starting at story conception through delivery of story to our clients
  • Organizational training and mentoring on our storytelling process with the goal of growing storytelling skills across the organization
  • Evolution of the storytelling discipline – a restless dissatisfaction to always be better, keeping an eye on trends and techniques, continuing to innovate the practice

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 5-7 years of experience in a storytelling role
  • Experience with both qualitative and quantitative market research analysis and reporting
  • Experience writing for a corporate audience while having a succinct and creative writing style
  • A passion and patience for teaching and mentoring
  • Outstanding analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to process complex information without getting stuck in the weeds
  • Exceptional and influential written and oral communication skills
  • Comfortable making business recommendations based on research insights
  • Strong editing skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to produce accurate work with minimal supervision and under tight timelines
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Psychology, Marketing, Consumer Research, Journalism or related field
  • Expertise with PowerPoint, Word and Excel
