Job Description

Vitamin T is currently in search of a Creative Director for our client in Metro Detroit. This is an onsite long term role!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Act as creative lead and design advocate

  • Bring strong creative leadership to all project stages from proposal and execution to delivery and presentation
  • Enjoy learning from and partnering with others – taking direction or providing it – and integrate seamlessly in cross-functional teams
  • Bring consumer stories to life through an empathic design approach, visual storytelling, and strong aesthetic
  • Leverage strong business acumen to understand our clients’ businesses and the challenges they’re facing
  • Responsible for supporting our organization journey, development and execution in embedding design within our work (go-to, advocate, training, ensure accountability)
  • Protector and advocate of great work that demonstrates strong attention to detail

 

Deliver design-centric solutions as a key differentiator

  • Sought after for commanding understanding of client business challenges and ability to help solve them – a true value-add to accounts and engagements
  • Demonstrated thought-leadership both inside and outside the organization
  • Collaborate with Account teams, Business Development and Marketing to shape our go-to-market strategy

 

Advance internal design competency while serving as a strong role model for professional development

  • Play a key role in development of creative staff – helping with professional growth, constructive mentoring, trusted associate
  • Knows how to situationally manage and motivate employees (dependent upon employee’s style)
  • Able to recognize and support future staffing needs to best support organizational needs (ideal team size, staff optimization, interviewing, etc.)

Demonstrate strong organizational leadership

  • A good, respected role model with the ability to suggest and lead through change in an inspiring way while wearing company hat
  • Visible/organizational leadership – great sphere of influence, lead courageously, stand behind a commitment or decision even if it is unpopular
  • Ability to work with everyone in organization – true awareness of “self”
  • Ability to motivate own team but cross-functional teams as well

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Communications or Journalism
  • 12+ years of relevant design or communication experience; 5 of those years ideally in a leadership role within an organization
  • Are an expert in:
  • Information design
  • Presentation design
  • Adobe InDesign and Illustrator
  • Have advanced skills in:
  • Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat
  • Video art direction
  • Digital illustration
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Exhibit design
  • Are proficient with PCs and other Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Outlook, Word)
  • Are highly self-motivated and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Have experience managing direct reports and coaching others
  • Copywriting and drawing experience are a plus
