Job Description

The Account Executive is the engine of action within integrated agency teams. They serve as the day-to-day operations lead, providing the “glue” that keeps client programs of work and people moving together. Working in collaboration with an Account Supervisor and/or Account Director, they are tasked with organizing, managing and executing client projects from beginning to end, and consistently delivering on time and within budget.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

● PROJECT LEADERSHIP

○ Shepherd resource management of internal teams, assigning tasks accordingly

○ Elevate issues related to budgets, resources and timelines to Account Supervisor or Account Director when necessary; assist to mitigate

○ Be an agency advocate, managing work as efficiently as possible to enhance profitability

 

● RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

○ Foster positive, productive day-to-day client relationships to facilitate effective/efficient flow of work

○ Foster positive, productive agency relationships across disciplines/departments

 

● STRATEGIC PLANNING & PROGRAM OF WORK DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT

○ Compile competitive spending data and campaign creative to be used in development of annual competitive analyses

 

● PROGRAM OF WORK IMPLEMENTATION

○ Facilitate execution of client programs of work; oversee campaigns in development and in progress, maintaining schedules and prioritizing tasks to avoid project creep

○ Draft executional creative briefs to be reviewed and approved by Account Supervisor or Account Director, followed by client approval/signature

○ Conduct executional creative kick-off meetings

○ Work with agency producers/traffic to develop project schedules and coordinate

internal check-ins

○ Obtain client approval/signature on estimates authorizing work

○ Work with Media (planner, channel teams) to effectively/efficiently complete the campaign workbook and deploy digital campaigns in alignment with established processes (see MC digital process)

○ Work with Analytics to deliver campaign reporting dashboards and companion documents to client in accordance with reporting schedule

○ Develop and maintain client status reports, hot lists and/or other project management tracking documents

○ Schedule collaborative meetings between internal teams to evaluate campaign performance for future client communication and planning

○ Coordinate meetings/presentations with clients and agency staff; attend as necessary

 

○ Proof/QA creative development for content, proper length/units, accuracy and spelling; proof media presentations and documents for content, calculation accuracy and spelling

○ Manage client feedback, revisions and approvals through appropriate channels

○ Manage client billing and budget recaps with careful diligence; review budget tracking for accuracy on a quarterly basis (minimum) with (Group) Account Director

○ Manage general account administration tasks include maintaining up-to-date client files, facilitating client birthdays, handling random client requests, etc.

 

● COMMUNICATION

○ Provide project level communications to agency and client teams

○ Develop brief conference reports recapping key decisions and action items after internal and external meetings

 

● COLLABORATION

○ Collaborate effectively with internal and external parties to ensure client work moves efficiently through the agency from start to finish

 

Required Experience, Skills, Knowledge & Characteristics:

● 2-4 years of relevant work experience; full service agency experience is preferred

● Thorough understanding of creative development and production processes, workflow and terminology for both traditional and digital media programs

● Exceptional time management, attention to detail, proofreading and organizational skills
