Tech client is looking for a contract Technical Editor to support technical documentation development efforts.The technical editor will review and edit specifications and other content deliverables that define the next generation of Client’s technology. The technical editor will integrate specification and test specification errata and apply editorial style standards to specifications as necessary. The technical editor will also collaborate with the Specification Management team and working group members as required.
This position focuses on applying research guidelines to specifications and doing errata integration.
The position can start ASAP (October 2018) and will run through December 2019.
Role and responsibilities
Edit and standardize content drafted by both SME contributors and technical writers in support of new technology features
Ensure standardization of company specifications and other company content via the Technical Publications Style Guide
Integrate specification and test specification errata
Work on editorial research projects as needed
Skills and Experience
5+ years experience editing technical content for a technical audience
Exceptional English communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent grammar and proofreading skills
Meticulous attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with subject matter experts
Highly motivated and a self-starter
Experience producing content in Microsoft Word, Adobe FrameMaker, and Adobe Acrobat Professional
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communications, English, or equivalent experience
