Job Description

Project Manager Responsibilities


  • Manage projects from request through to final delivery. Develop clear and thorough project plans, detailing internal tasks, team reviews and approvals. Set up and manage necessary touch points such as stand ups, status, hours review, etc. Understand team review and approval processes and ensure the plan accommodates necessary review cycles

  • Manage internal cross-functional teams to ensure they have the time and materials needed to complete their task. Work with resource manager and relevant management to ensure team members are properly allocated and staffed on the project. Ensures the team members are collaborating across functions. The PM is the caretaker of the team spirit.

  • Identify risk and potential issues before they become a problem and work with team leads and management to resolve

  • Ensure that all projects are reviewed as defined by the  process and are delivered with the highest quality

  • Follow established  processes and ensures teams are also following processes. Identify where processes can be improved and work with management to implement changes as needed.

  • Provide draft estimates and assumptions for projects. Run burn report meetings and work with leadership to resolve issues. Ensure projects are managed within and delivered to scope. Flag when work is going out of scope and ensure resolution. Ensures vendor invoices are approved in a timely manner. Keep timesheet up to date on a weekly basis (more frequently as needed).

  • Interact with teams, as needed, to relay project plan, timing, potential risks, etc.

  • Support teams to ensure the projects stay within scope and timeline. Lead project meetings, in concert with strategy lead (stand up, status, burn, project kick-off). Take initiative to proactively identify and solve issues as it relates to project execution and team spirit.

  • Mentor junior level staff as needed.

  • The PM is directed in some aspects of the work; experience and proficiency dependent. PM is responsible to proactively flag any issues, risks or concerns with their manager.


  • 2-4 years of project management or account management experience preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or operations management preferred

  • Experience in managing projects in an agency setting. Good understanding of print, digital, and video production work. Experience in managing projects in multiple methodologies.

  • A great communicator (verbal and written) with a strong attention to detail. Has experience with presenting in a business setting and can present plans, status, and other project related information to internal teams.

  • Experience in leading, collaborating, managing and working with teams to deliver on projects

  • Proven ability to think on their feet, identify potential issues and work with teams and management to solve

  • Ability to proactively develop contingency plans and get projects on track

  • Advocacy/Non-profit experience is a plus

  • Scrumaster training is a plus

  • Experience in managing or mentoring staff a plus

  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite. Experience with project management tools such as Asana,  Google spreadsheets, Google calendar.
