Job Description

Our client, a leading full service ad agency, is looking for a mid-level, multi-disciplined WordPress Developer to join their creative/production team, onsite, in Carmel. PLEASE NOTE: this is NOT a remote position.

The role of the WordPress developer is to lead the front-end development and upkeep of both agency and client sites. Advanced knowledge of WordPress is expected, as is a complete understanding of UX/UI, information architecture, and user-path mapping. Experience in planning, scoping, and delivering web-related projects on-time and under budget is desired. The developer will be expected to have a deep understanding and hands-on experience with web applications and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, and multiple APIs.


  • 6+ years of experience in a development field and/or position
    • 3+ years of Front-End Development experience, specifically in WordPress
    • Agency experience is a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of web platforms, theming, and transition from design to web
  • Adequate knowledge of testing websites across multiple browsers for a uniform user experience
  • A diverse coding portfolio that showcases live sites, back-end portals, and custom CMS adaptations
  • Demonstrable knowledge of web and/or digital design, user experience, platform development, and software applications (WordPress, PHP, MySQL, jQuery, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Complete understanding of cross-browser capability, mobile first readiness, and security principles
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field: Computer Science, Technology, Software, etc.

Approximate Breakdown to Responsibilities:

  • 40% Original front-end development and coding
  • 20% Live site maintenance
  • 20% Collaborating with creative team
  • 10% Planning/budgeting/scoping
  • 10% Continued learning and education on security, trends, applications, etc.
