Job Description

One of Baltimore's leading architectural firms is seeking an Environmental Designer to join their team on a temp-to-hire basis.  

You will:

  • Design, plan, and document a variety of environmental graphic design project types including wayfinding, master planning, signage, and integrated interior graphics for a variety of industries and facilities
  • Design for publications, information graphics, and print collateral for external or in-house clients
  • Travel on occasion to meetings, research, and field locations
  • Project manage and help oversee vendors
  • Participate in design workshops and critiques
  • Read and understand architectural documents and work within multidisciplinary teams including architecture, master planning, landscape architecture, and graphic design disciplines

Must Haves:

  • 5+ years of experience in environmental graphic design, wayfinding and signage
  • Bachelor’s degree (BFA or similar) required. MFA or similar preferred
  • 5+ years of environmental graphic design experience in a studio or architecture firm
  • Excellent typography and graphic design skills
  • Professional acumen and experience articulating and presenting to internal and external clients
  • Technical proficiency and ability to detail structures and draft specifications to a design level 
  • Great attention to detail, thoroughness, and ability to assist others with quality assurance reviews 
  • Ability to develop solutions within a budget and on time
  • Strategic and analytical wayfinding skills
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop) and SketchUp required. AutoCAD and/or other 3D modeling experience is a strong plus
